You are Katie, which contract do you finalize first?
#1
Katie has a number of contract situations to deal with in next 30 to 90 day. Who do you prioritize to finalize first, second and so on.

Joe has hinted at restructuring his deal. I think Katie has have Joe's deal first, so she knows exactly the cap dollars she has available. Next, I would do Chase, he will break the bank and need to know how much. She could stand pat and have him play on 5th year option, but if me I would extend him for 5 or 6 years. Next, I would extend Trey, he earned an extension and raise. Last of the big 4 I would attempt to sign Tee with either the intent to keep him for 4 or 5 years or trade him.

What would you do if Katie?

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Jamarr 100%. They completely fumbled last year and its time to make it up to him, with the quickness

His money wont hit until 2026 anyways from what i understand

Well if they want Tee back he comes first. They can lower the 26m franchise tag to a lower cap hit before Free Agency starts.

Minus re-signing Tee.

With an improved o-line, Joe will have more time to throw and Chase's numbers may further improve, making him more expensive.

Hendrickson, I want him three more years.

Tee would be first because he's A free agent, then you have to figure Trey's situation, and then Chase.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Chase then hendrickson/tee in whatever order. You can franchise Tee, which might be cheaper AAV than what you would pay over a term. You can squat on Hendrickson as he is under contract. You could argue Chase is also under contract, but he is not yet 25 years old and a NFL superstar. Whatever you pay him, you could argue that he is underpaid in comparison to the revenue him and burrow will bring back the next 5 years.

Tee

Trey is likely gone If he really wants 30M plus

Tee will likely work with you more than Trey will want to

The correct answer is Katie should've got Tee done for millions less in 2023, and the same goes for Ja'Marr last year.

He was looking for a ~$23m/yr deal in 2023.

Katie signs Tee for $23m/yr in 2023, and then he proceeds to play 52.67% and 55.94% of the snaps in 2023 and 2024 while the Bengals miss the playoffs both years? Folks would have said that the Tee deal was a bad one. Then he'd have a big 'ol cap hit as the real meaty part of his cap hits from the contract kick in and low guaranteed money left while our 1st Team All-Pros Chase and Hendrickson need an extension, and Tee would be talked about as a potential cap casualty this offseason.

The Bengals organization doesn't have the cash on hand to sign players at a cheaper rate (due to signing them early). The past few years it seems like they only can do one big signing at a time. I feel like Mike/Katie owning the team and aren't as rich as most owners is really holding the team back and I haven't been more I'm favor of them selling the team. I've wanted new ownership for a long time, but now I feel like this team is doomed because of it.

Since Tee fired his agent and signed Chase's agent, I suspect they'll work on them together.

They can tag him again if they want to trade him.

I work on terminating contracts before I work on new ones.

Hubbard, Rankins, Cappa.

Then I go and immediately extend Tee (will be a FA in a month), Hendrickson, and Chase in that order.

This really isn't that hard.

It isn't a matter of opinion people lol: if you ARE GOING TO sign all 3, Higgins is first.

If he gets to FA, he's most-likely gone, so if you're serious about signing him, he gets done in the next 2 weeks.

Then it would be Chase.

Only one of the three is a free agent.... The other two are under contract.
