Pratt requests trade
#21
GM bfine to the rescue:

Trade Pratt to Indy for Pittman

If the Colts trade Pittman they save $10 MIL in Cap Space and we're on the hook for $13 Mil.

Germaine likes Lou and I'd assume the feeling is mutual.

He had some big moments with the Bengals but those days are gone.
He’s a unicorn now - an NFL LB who can’t tackle…

Who somehow was 10th in the league in tackles....

If I remember right, Golden did not want Pratt playing on 3rd down....

I think Pratt thinks he is a 3 down LB and Bengals do not in my opinion. I do think some are over playing Pratt can't tackle, no player is 10th in the NFL in tackles and can't tackle. I think over time Pratt did not finish some tackles because he was too intent on stripping the ball. My point is it is fixable so his value to another team may be greater than a 7th round pick.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

That is exactly the reason Pratt wants traded.  Pratt was a 2 down linebacker that though he was more.  When they gave Pratt the extension and an opportunity to be an every down linebacker, he has failed.   Pratt knows he is back to being a 2 down linebacker with Golden.

He's a solid mid player He had so many tackles because we started the season without DTs and then lost our MLB and our best run DE. I get going for the strip when the defense is bending and breaking. I would roll my eyes if Mike Hilton insisted he was a 3 down player, and his run D and pass D are both way better.
If he is going to butt heads with the new DC it's best for everyone for him to leave. Especially if he was a captain. Golden's job is going to be hard enough.

I've been one of the louder voices in complaining about Pratt's tackling (or lack thereof), I've never once said that he can't tackle. The problem is that he tries to many atomic shoulders that result in ball carriers bouncing and spinning off of him for an extra 2-5 yards, and too much emphasis on punch out when a sure tackle would end a drive on 3rd down.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Getting additional draft capital for a likely cap casualty would be great. Bonus, more snaps for Njongmeta.

I like this unlike when Trey did what he did last year. Pratt must not fit which is a good thing for us, anything we can get for him in a trade
would be gravy honestly. We need great tacklers here and he is not even a good tackler. He would of led the league in Tackles if he made
more of them instead of always trying to punch the ball out.

Pratt is not a 3 down Linebacker and is being paid like one. Let someone else take a chance on what we already know to be true.

Wonder if that means BJ Hill ain’t coming back either.

We might end up having even more roster turnover than I imagined

I hope we can come to a new agreement with BJ Hill. He's a solid player, not as good as Reader but solid. It would be nice to see if we can find a way to resign Hilton also.

We'll see what Golden thinks of Njongmeta. If we decide he has "it" he is strictly a hammer at MLB. That pushes Logan outside where he would prosper and leaves us needing another OLB. I agree sign BJ Hill as together with Jenkins and Jackson that leaves our IDL need at a big powerful NT with a good anchor. That way we can work on EDGE with a minimum of disruption.

Good. He’s one of my least liked bengals. Stone takes the cake. But I’m sick of seeing Pratt miss tackles or tackle 9 yards down the field. We need a thumper and someone who can get pressure.

Doubt anyone would want to trade for him

Agreed. I know that both Pratt and BJ Hill went to the same college but that shouldn't matter. BJ Hill is a solid player as you say and is not
the problem. Would be nice to bring back BJ and as you say Mike Hilton our best tackler and best blitzer. Golden likes good blitzers.
