I think the only discount would be to not expect anything from him until 2026 at the earliest, then hope the fix this time holds. He's certainly worth keeping to see if he pays off.

Umm…probably the 2 ACL tears in the same knee in as many years. He’s expected to miss the entire 25 season at the very least.

Especially in a system where your best WR is Jacobi Meyers.

Then we can take our pick of some real blue chips in the 1st since there's almost certainly going to be 2 QBs picked in the top 5, meaning we'd get the 4th pick of all the non-QB talent in the draft.

(If you're wondering on the trade value chart, the difference between our 1st and their 1st is 650 points, and the Raiders 2nd is worth 530, hence our 4th which is worth 58. It would value Tee at roughly between the 33rd and 34th pick assuming we're saying Mayer is roughly our 6th rd pick. We come out ahead value-wise, but the Raiders finish with 2 picks instead of 1 so the sting of the slight value loss for them isn't so bad.)
They don’t want Mayer the same as the Raiders drafted Bowers with him.

Thanks I missed that

Mayer is an afterthought in that trade. Getting the 6th overall pick and getting ourselves a blue chip DT to go with Hendrickson and whomever we sign in FA (hopefully Sweat) is the focus of it.

Tee I bet stays

Yeah, switch in whatever player you like and it is appealing to us.

I still can't get past the thought of him having mommy issues. It's a pass for me...

Would this be similar to another team getting excited for Burton, or previously Carmen?
Then someone from the other teams fan board, saying they would trade a young top 24 player at their position for Carmen/burton and a 4th?
Mayer is worth nothing more than a late/conditional flier pick. Eric all had almost the same production last year and got hurt. You can find Mayer production, with upside, in the mid rounds of the draft.

You beat me to the point that I was about to post. I'm all for acquiring Mayer for a really late round pick, but essentially he's proving to be a bust.
If his current career trajectory was taking place as him being a Bengal we'd be discussing how Duke blew it again, that it is time to cut Mayer, etc.

Agree, I wouldn't mind picking up Mayer for a song and a dance just to see if JB can get anything out of him?
