Hubbard Retiring

Hubbard retiring. Clears more cap space.

Thanks for a good career, Sam.

Sounds like retirement. Sam was one of the good ones.

Thanks for everything Sam.

Thanks for everything Sam.

He said flat out he was moving on from his playing career. So it seemed pretty definite.

Probably the best scenario. He obviously is still not healthy, and this lets him go out the door without being cut. Thanks for the great plays Sam....

I'm just glad it ended well.

TD, retired, and Bengals weren't forced into releasing him. Everyone seems to win.

Kind of surprising to walk away from that amount of money.

Well that came out of nowhere. I wonder if he was approached about a pay cut or else you’re cut and opted for this instead. What’s the cap space effect?

Well he would have been cut.

Does he still get the guaranteed/dead money if he's retiring? Not sure how that shakes out.

Well didn't expect that! Too bad, but yeah, I think he may be just too injured if he's moving on.

One of my favourite players ever, really enjoyed the solid play throughout: he was our best modern day run stopping DE after John Copeland and we will always remember the Ravens playoff game.

Really hope he sticks around the team in some capacity: maybe not this year, but in the next few.

And now I need a new white jersey!

You would think with all this money being freed up the next move should be an extension of one the Big 3, right?

I could see a guy like Sam taking some time to get his physical health back in order, and then perhaps getting into the coaching circle.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Future HC at Moeller down the road!

Nothing better in sport than when a local kid gets to play for the team he grew up supporting.

The fumble in the jungle, the strip sacked of Mahomes in the AFCCG, his final play of his career being a touchdown pass from one of his best friends.

He was shot we all knew it was coming but doesn’t take away from an outstanding career.

Hope he has a very happy retirement.

It's nice to see a Bengals player not be exiled and flame out on another team for once. Sam is one good dude. I'm glad we had him here all those years.

Reminds me that I need to email them about presenting there again!

Now that I think about it, Sam probably saw my presentation when he was there!

Classy as expected and I am glad this played out without him playing for another team.
Wish him well in retirement and will always remember his TD vs Baltimore.
