BREAKING: Bengals give Trey Hendrickson permission to be traded
(Yesterday, 03:08 PM)Essex Johnson Wrote: I would disagree they tend to  sign 30 and over, also we have been active day 1 day 2, even if they did not work out with rankin and bell on day 2 last year and the big in in 2023 in Brown.. and sifned more FAs last 3 yrs than i can remember

I also remember when we signed Orlando it was frustrating quiet it seemed and then he signed. But also the news broke that he approached us and not the other way round.

I agree. Perhaps I should've stated with big contracts looming we may revert back to those days. I hope not and really can't see them cutting Cappa and not signing a guard. Really we sign Zietler to a deal upgrade and would be a great story.

That’s the attitude that got him kicked out of Cincy!

He’s right just hope they have learned or at least feel so pressured by Burrow that they have to do things they don’t want to.

Whereas the two tags, while maybe a bit lower than $60 mill when all is said and done, would be fully guaranteed, plus he could still go sign somewhere for a 1-year or 2-year deal after and get more.

No, it wouldn't. That's what I am trying to tell you.

If he gets a broken back or just absolutely falls off a cliff and produces 0.0 sacks in 17 games in 2025,  we don't tag him and he gets $0 in 2026 and 2027.
If he gets a broken neck or just absolutely falls off a cliff and produces 0.0 sacks in 17 games in 2026, we don't tag him and he gets $0 in 2027.

Fully guaranteed means you get it no matter what the team decides. "We'll probably franchise tag you twice in a row in the future" is a $0 fully guaranteed deal.

Browns just extended Garrett at $40 million a year.

If we sign Chase he will be a 25-year-old from the New Orleans Saints with four years of experience and 22 career sacks.

Personally, I think the biggest difference is Trey has more heart and Chase has more talent.

Yeah. I'd be down with Young.

which just upped Ja'Marr's price since the Bengals promised to make him the highest paid non-QB

If we have to pay Jamar 42+ then you really have to consider trading Tee and Hendrickson.

How you supposed to build a team with that much money locked up.

Bengals paying Trey 16 million base in 2025 is a steal. Teams will need to up the ante to get Trey in a trade. Maybe two first round picks. Trey has better stats than Garrett.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Garrets deal doesn’t hurt Chase as much as it may have ended a Tee extension.

Treys out with this news.

Wonder if it would make sense to trade both Tee and Trey and get a ton of draft capital. Use this season a mini rebuild with a chance at making the playoffs.

I wouldn't even say the above if this was any other team but I know the Bengals FO doesn't want to pay these prices.

No Trey is not anywhere near as good/valuable as Garrett. Trey has good stats but is not the player Garrett is. An offer of even one first rounder for Trey should be an automatic yes from the Bengals.

This is why Browns are a joke. They delve into circus moves like this to keep their fan base occupied in delusion, and hurt other Teams negotiating with their players.

Browns fans, today is your Super Bowl. Let the confetti rain down and have a parade - because you are not going to sniff the real SB any time soon.

Your ownership will pay $90M this year for two players, one of whom has been one of the worst trades in NFL history and just had a setback in recovering from torn achilles.

It’s always about the money. Very few players win a ring, and players know that. Show up, ball out, get paid. It’s the name of the game. It’s truly only us fans that care about winning a championship. If you asked owners would you rather win a championship or have record profits, they’re all choosing record profits. At the end of the day, this is just a game where winning doesn’t truly matter. It’s a business that’s making money. Even if I’m wrong, no one cares, and I mean no one, cares as much as us fans who watch every single Sunday.

The Mack trade says otherwise. No way I give up top pass rusher in the NFL who only costs me 16 million base in 2025 for one 1st rounder.

Well maybe not the highest highest.
You can go to live in France, but you cannot become a Frenchman. You can go to live in Germany or Turkey or Japan, but you cannot become a German, a Turk, or a Japanese. But anyone, from any corner of the Earth, can come to live in America and become an American
