The Wolfman. Fear the beard. Mellow

Seriously, good news, I like having some toughness back with Samaje. Physicality is what this team needs and he brings it.

Unfinished business and cheaper than Moss.  Well rounded back with something left in the tank.

Good stuff.

Still a lot of cap space left.

Perine only had 20 rushing attemps last year for the Chiefs. They used him more as a pass catching third down back.

Thats still crazy though considering Pacheco was hurt most of the year.

It'll be nice to have an elite pass blocking third down back on the team.

At worst the best pass blocking back on the roster by far.

Should have signed him over Moss last year.

Great signing.

Fits the offense to a T. Very efficient back.

Very good pick up.

I wonder if he was another one Burrow was asking for?

Yep. And Brown improved by leaps & bounds.

Hopefully this means less Drew Sample in the backfield. Perine can catch it and run, not just block.

Don’t forget I’m a Sooner but Denver and KC both passed.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Does this mean moss is all but gone ?

Now does this count as an “outside” FA signing?
Technically it is but he was inside before then left but has decided to move back home.

Seriously I like this and he can be a good compliment to Chase Brown. Hardly any cost at all for a guy who Burrow trusts and knows the system.

And another back that can catch passes out of the backfield. It's enormous that you can give Brown a blow here and there and not have revise your passing game because tour backup can catch the ball damn near anywhere on the field..

Hopefully this doesn't turn out like us bringing Vonn Bell back...

I highly doubt it does, Samaje seems to have tons left in the tank and wasn't overused with KC.

Yes sir Higgy. Helps make our Offense less predictable as well. Love that Chase Brown became a 3 down RB last year so we have 2 RB's
that can pass protect and catch the ball out of the backfield. Hopefully we can add another one in the Draft and have the best RB room
we have had since Gio and Mixon were here at the same time.

He lacks the speed that both of those teams covet at RB!

It sounds a little asinine, but he probably meshes a little better in our offense. We use him to block and then slip out on screens quite a bit, or on draw plays. It's almost like the defense assumes that when he's in the game with JB that it's going to be a pass, but sometimes the ole OC slips in a call for him and it goes for 20.

Just my take on it. Great blocker, physical, and a sleeper weapon. If he touches it 10 times and rips off a couple of 15-20 yard gains, I dgaf if he runs 4.8 or not.

I’m highly familiar with him. I watched tons of his film when OU recruited him. Then watched in person approx 28 games. You are right but he’s 30. If Chase Brown goes down we’ve got problems.

Well said Coach. That is the reason KC and Denver passed. Samaje has our longest Playoff TD ever on the long TD screen as well.

He is a power back that is really hard to tackle and he can pass protect like nobody's bidness and has a wicked stiff arm.

I’ve only watched him play in the bengals offense and he was more efficient than Mixon. Much better fit for our shotgun style offense as he blocks well, and is an efficient runner out of shotgun. And he caught and ran the ball well too.

He’s not an I form runner like Mixon. But a great shotgun back.
