Should Bengals attemp to bring in Kupp for 7 to 9 million and then...

Trade Tee Higgins.

It would be risky as he has been injury prone the past couple of years.

The thought would be to use the high draft pick (1st or 2n round) to draft Tee's eventual replacement. It would give us the cap space also to add a guard and a vet proven pass rusher.

If not Kupp, Diggs and Cooper are also available,

He'd play the same amount of games as Tee would.

Unfortunately I could see it happening but I also think Kupp is washed be a huge risk by the Bengals. But one they could accept at that price.

Trading Tee Higgins, a top 15 WR, a guy Burrow desperately wants back and then signing a completely different WR who is older, nowhere near as good and will cost 8-12 mil for a year is so profoundly stupid that Mike & Katie are finalizing it now.

He is not a top 15 receiver in. terms of production, not even close.

I love Tee, but his money may be better spent on the positions you and I seem to agree, the trenches. If Burrow is truely a HOF QB, he will be better with a great OL in y opinion. But, I have been on the tag and trade Tee for a while now.  I feel we could get a 1st round pick for him due to his potential, not due to his production.

Ok. Trading Tee is certainly an idea. They’re not going to do it, but it’s not a crazy thing to suggest. If you trade Tee, you have to have a viable WR2. It’s not Gesicki. I love Gesicki and am very happy he’s back. But he’s not Tee. Nor is Yoshi. Thus, you have to go find someone, now, who could come close to replacing Tee’s production and in a less tangible aspect, threaten a defense in the same fashion. We all saw how much harder things can be for Chase when Tee is out.

Unless I’m overlooking someone, a comparable WR is not out there. And Kupp is not the same type of WR and he’s also just not that good anymore.

Given how often Tee gets hurt, he's just an overpriced version of Kupp, so this totally makes sense.

I do think the Bengals could get a top 40 pick at a minimum for Tee and also get 26.2 million in cap space. Yes, they need to replace as noone on our roster is a true #2.

I also can see other receivers getting cut. The teams have to be in cap compliance the rest of the year. I also believe improve guard play and less talented receivers will get open. An extra half a second for Joe Burrow is huge. He has proven he sees the field well while under duress.

There will be cap casualties, of course, but no one of his caliber (or even close) as WR is now one of the league’s premier positions. Elite WR are not cap casualties.

The Tee cap money could net the Bengals two top end guards, like Becton and Jenkins (like Zeitler, but apparently the wife is not fond of the queen city), re-sign Mike Hilton, and still have a nice chunk of change left in the pocket, not to mention the draft pick(s) and/or player that would come along with the trade.

Flip side, Joe wants Higgins here, so he's likely getting re-signed.

May be for the best, as I doubt the Bengals would make the right moves with the extra money.

he was easily a top 15 receiver last year in terms of his per game stats

Not against trading Tee at all. I just don't know if Cooper Kupp is the right trade as he might be washed up and he is injured a lot
too. Would rather trade for a guy who has a history of availability. As long as we can improve the Guard play I am happy and trading
Tee would free up a lot of dough.

That is why he would fetch a top 40 pick minimum. The season stats are for 17 games, his inability to stay healthy is a huge negative for Tee. Cooper and Kupp would have better stats if they played every game as well.

As I have said, I love Tee, but in. my humble opinion, we can use the cap space more wisely to build the trenches short and long term.

Feels like I haven’t seen much magic happen with a team adding an old vet WR since Moss and Brady.

Kupp was cut today, so no trade needed.

Chase is the magic. We did see a team win super bowls after trading the best WR in the NFL at the time freeing up money and acquiring draft picks. Everyone said KC was crazy for trading Hill. They were wrong.

I want Diggs NOWHERE near this team. I'd take Kupp

Think about all the FA capital we’ve committed to the OL over the past few years. Think of the draft capital. It’s never made much of a difference. Got to the SB with the worst OL (on paper) we’ve had for a long time.

I’m not saying ignore it. But I’m saying the reason why the Bengals have a SB window is our skill players. Joe. Jamarr. JoeMix. Tee. Boyd. Now Chase.

It’s not wise to trade an elite playmaker and key part of this core for a couple of picks or veteran OL who won’t move the needle.
