Kupp was pretty dominant for 1 season...like 3 years ago. He's an 800-900 yard guy now. And he gets hurt a lot.

So he's kinda like Tee in some ways. But older.

No. With Gesicki as WR4 it is probably not needed.

If we had extended Tee & Chase & restructured Burrow and had $30+ mil more in cap space....then maybe..

But we need 2 starting Guards a lot more.

Kupp is not taking 9 mil lol. He will get atleast 14 or 15 mil this year. Just extend Tee. There are so many reasons why it's the right move.

I also can see other receivers getting cut. The teams have to be in cap compliance the rest of the year. I also believe improve guard play and less talented receivers will get open. An extra half a second for Joe Burrow is huge. He has proven he sees the field well while under duress.

Yeah there is a gap between Tee and Kupp, but does the 2nd rounder and say 20M price difference and drama elimination overcome that gap? Tee is almost as injury prone, and if they don't think Kupp is washed maybe.  You'd have to turn around and land Jenkins and Scherff/Hernandez.  That or add another pass rusher.  

The other part of this is maybe this justifies any reservation about where money will be spent 3 years from now.  Maybe Chase gets a big hit in years 3 and 4 and Trey in 2 and 3.  If Burrow could buy into Kupp and the extra guard and pick helping them getting the other 2 and getting a more well rounded roster maybe everyone is happy. The extra 2nd could mean you have two DL in the 1st 2 rounds and take BPA or could take a big drop like TE that you wouldn't have taken otherwise.  Tee makes us special, but this trade NOW could make us better overall. Doubt they do this though.
