Burrow; Welcome to the Hot Seat

Joe thrives on the hot seat, on and off the field. He’ll be fine.

He has two #1 WRs and a host of other weapons. A breakout young RB that can catch and run like the wind. A vet TE that is a nightmare matchup for most LBs, and two monster starting Tackles. He's probably feeling pretty damn fired up right now.

Realistically we are only one or two successful drafts away from being capable of making another run, imho. I think the young DBs are about to show their worth and growth this season. Add in a bare minimum, one more decent LB, G, and pass rusher. These players can be drafted on team friendly rookie deals.

We're making another run people. Count on it!

or not...but I hope that I am wrong

zac on the hot seat, burrow is never, he pulled his weight. only people who have pulled their weight are burrow, chase, trey. tee hopefully plays every game and has a monster year. we are going to joke the first hamstring incident.

the funny part of whether he is on the hot seat or not is he doesn't care, it doesn't negatively affect him I think. Some people want to make the decisions and live with the consequences.

Joe Burrow Hotseat? Have you seen his contract? He isn't going anywhere.

Zac Taylor on the other hand is definitely on the hot seat with the lack of development from coaching. Shame Al Golden might only get one season as an NFL DC.

Minimum 2 years for golden.

I don't know about the hot seat other that he's taking snaps behind a crap O-line. The front office is on the hot seat. You signed all these office toys, but we need at least mid-tier defense & like I said O-line needs help. Hope that the our new D coach can influence the drafting.

They way I contextualize it, Burrow is the last individual affiliated with the Bengals on the hot seat. He consistently performs at a high level when balling. He's intrinsically motivated to maximize his talent and mostly experiences success. If ownership, the front office, the coaches, and all players were Burrow-like, we'd be rooting for a team entering dynasty territory. We'd be NFL Super Bowl winning royalty like the Steelers, Patriots, 49'ers, Cowboys, etc.

If the hot seat is just about the pressure to win then I'm comfortable Burrow holds himself accountable to perform at the highest level.

The only reason we didn't go 4-12 4-13 is because of Burrow.

I don't think a single sane person will point at Burrow if we don't make the playoffs.

Joe did'nt force anything, he basically told them what it was going to take to keep him when "HIS" contract is up. They agreed.

All is great as long as the plan works. If it doesn't. The "I told you so" card is in the hands of the FO. How will fans react?

Question?

Does that put pressure on Burrow?

There are no excuses for slow starts when the QB gets everything he asked for

But if this doesnt work out its on who set up the contracts

Exactly. I have 99 problems and Joe Burrow isn’t one of them.

We'll see how hot his seat looks in the new season of Quarterbacks this year.

"Hot Seat" may have been a little click baitish, but no fan criticism if things go bad?

So we have the highest paid QB (at time of signing), the highest paid non QB ever, and the highest paid WR2 in the league?  You'd better believe that there'll be criticism if they don't spring out of the gate, just blowing teams out of the water this year.  Mellow

It depends. If the offense scores 35 points and we lose maybe not on JB and the offense. If OL gives JB no protection, again OL issue.

Any QB who has a bad defense is already under pressure to score a lot of points.
