He graded out above average last year (PFF), but was still sub 70. #1 DT vs the run. He'd be the 2nd best DL on the team, but I still think he is better vs the run though an improvement for us vs the pass.
BJ was playing the NT role next to Rankins/Jenkins most of last year. Next to Slaton/Jackson, he shoukd be more of a DT this year, and I expect a slight uptick in his pass rush numbers.
We are assuming Campbell will be cheap, he may not be.

What exactly does make a deal soon mean?
Say Trey wants $35 million a year, do you just give him that?
The prudent thing in negotiations is to take time and offer what you're willing to pay...and the other side comes down.
I know it freaks people out that some of these situations are unresolved, but that's negotiations.

Well to me I'd like a deal done before the draft so trading him would still be on the table.
I'm not saying give him exactly the $$$ he's asking for...

There are 2 sides negotiating. Trey wants a boatload more money than the 15.8 million he is under contract to receive in 2025 of which none is guaranteed. The team has Trey under a 1 year team friendly contract.
Both sides will not get what they want so compromise is needed. I don't see Bengals trading Trey. I also don't see the Bengals giving Trey a lot more money in 2025. I do see them working on an extension where Trey is paid more than he would get if franchised in 2026 and then a non guaranteed year 3 at closer to the 30 million a year he is requesting.
Keep in mind, Trey has zero money guaranteed right now so if he wants job security, a future guarantee is as valuable as the extra money.
As others have said, there is no hurry on behalf of the team to get it done prior to the draft if they have no plans to trade Trey.

Well i think they do trade Trey is someone comes close to their asking price, but i don;t think any team is going to offer that trade bar the Bengals want

He is is he? Still, if I was a fan of the team you would think I would know more about a star player on said team...
All I know is James Pearce is a damn good player, but if he is as bad as JJ22 is making him out to be, he should fall a long ways
and might be off our board after the Burton pick.

At what round do teams take a gamble because they would potentially be getting a 1st round talent but (way) later in the draft?
I'd have a hard time passing him up in Rd 4, possibly Rd 3 depending on the DEs available.
I would take that gamble in the 3rd or 4th round for sure.

Surprised we didn't meet with Jalon Walker or Jihad Campbell for the Viper position in Golden's Defense.
I could see Shemar Stewart or Mike Green being the pick because of this.
Emmanwori we met with, this is who I am leaning towards more and more. Stud Safety can really help an entire Defense as we have seen with
the Ravens over the years. Emmanwori could be Sean Taylor 2.0.

Would of liked to of brought back Chido, but he didn't look the same on the Titans last year.
Still hoping to add one vet Corner to the room. I liked the thought of Jaire Alexander if he can stay healthy.

It appears the Ravens are not worrying about compensatory picks for 2026.
If healthy, we know he is a good CB. But, have injuries taken their toll on him and he is a 1/2 step slower?
I have faith Tee and Jamar can school him.

It is probably a pipe dream, but Gilmore or Alexander are on my wish list. But, my biggest wish is to sign a vet guard who will greatly improve the OL room.

Same here. Bring in Risner, Scherff or Hernandez and I will feel much better about the entire roster.

Well, I can admit that I was way off base in whole heartedly believing that Billy Price was going to be the Bengals foundational, cornerstone Center for 10-12 years.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

I am far from an OL guru like you and others, by many others and myself thought Price would be great. We all thought plug and play which happened, then he got hurt and never got better, actually digressed.

Yeah, we can all be wrong about players and how they adapt moving to the NFL. I wanted Ragnow, but thought Price was a fine pick to fall
back on. Happens. James Pearce seems to have coachability concerns so I can understand us passing on him. Emmanwori is seeming more
and more like the pick to me. The only question is if he can play FS and how Battle and him would fit as a starting duo IMO.

To date Ravens have lost 5 players to FA. Grade for yourself, but with 5 lost players and potential to lose 8 more it appears they will look to the draft to overcome their losses and their cap space is limited. I list the Ravens as tey are the team who has won the AFCN the past 2 seasons.
CB - Stephens
OT/OG - Mekari
OT - Josh Jones
LB - Malik Harrison
LB - Chris Board.
They have gained
WR - Hopkins
QB - Cooper Rush
CB - Chidobe Awuzie
LB - Jake Hummel

They also have a lot of free agents who they have not signed nor have been signed by others
CB - White
WR - Agholor
WR - Harty
WR - Diontae Johnsom
WR - Steve Sims
QB - J. Johnson
DL Urban
LB - Welch

Man, they could really have a roster turnover if they aren't careful. Those are a lot of good players they lost and could still lose.
Makes me a little happy.

He was signed to the vet-minimum and was cut by the Titans. He wouldn't factor into the comp pick formula anyway.

I did not realize he was cut and did not see report on his contract. So vet minimum with no incentives?

The Titans owe him 7.5M this year, similar to the situation that Russ was in last year with the Steelers/Broncos
