Last year there were 17 defensive ends and outside linebackers that had at least 8 sacks, 1 tackle for loss, 1 pass defensed, 1 forcred fumble and 1 combined tackle(s).
Trey was 1st in sacks.
Trey was 2nd in tackles for loss.
Trey was 10th in total tackles.
Trey was 1st in quarterback hits.
Trey was (T) for 2nd in passes defensed.
Trey was (T) for 3rd in forced fumbles.
Here's one more quick reality. The Bengals made the Super Bowl and back to back AFCCGs with Tee Higgins and Trey on the team, so i'm not sure how your sarcastic '9-8 team' is even remotely relevant.
the team has gone 9-8 the past two seasons ....lol@ "sarcastic."..dude.. our father was one of the team physicians in the 70s and 80aside from two games that I can think of we have attended almost every home game the past 40 years..and one Superbowl..We love our bengals..The reality is this team has not done well the past two years..Its not sarcastic ..its not a personal attack ..its fact....And with all of Treys sacks..how did the defense do? And I think this is where your frustration with me comes into play..Football is a team sport and there has been something amiss with our team the past two years.... and aside from Burrow and Chase...I don't think that anyone on the team is beyond reproach....I get that some on here love certain players and herein lies another difference..These players are going to be multimillionaires wherever they play, they are going to continue to be friends with one another, they are going to have vacation homes in Miami Beach or France, they will be driving 500k cars...their kids and their grandkids will never have to work again..they will be fine even if they dont play for our team..And I feel that some on this Board feel that if players leave our organization they will be relegated to Siberia and digging ditches in minus twenty degree weather..And finally, we as human beings have different opinions on everything..Heres a take..I hope that my opinion on retaining Higgins and Trey is absolutely incorrect and this team goes to the Superbowl this year..And if so..I will apologize to certain members on this Board..with great joy..Have a great day

perhaps you put too much value on a quarterback sack..did not help our defense the past two years did it..And Sled please don't take it personally as you are an excellent contributor..I hope my opinion is wrong and you are correct and we can celebrate playoff and Superbowl victories together

So, you think the team is/was better off without Trey's 18 sacks or whatever it was? At face value, I would like to think that you see your conundrum here. The only way that the team is better off without Trey, is IF they receive a couple of high picks for him, and then HITTING on those picks!
Personally, I prefer a proven product at the NFL level. Trey Hendrickson is, and has been getting it done. The team lost several very close games last season. They easily could have finished 11-6 or 12-5! Let's not act like the team is hot garbage.

Like oh man I’m shocked Lucas Patrick , Volson and Ford weren’t the answers. Shocked that are rookie guard wasn’t good or ready to play because we’re usally so good at drafting that position. Or that adding Burks and Slaton to the worst D in the league didn’t make a huge difference. And I like those additions. Then at the end of the year I’ll see Kevin Zeitlers good PFF grade and want to jump off a bridge.
The way I look at it is, with the 2 new additions we don't know for sure if they are going to be the answers. We do know for sure the players we lost were not.

I have repeatedly said this team played much better the last six games the last season.. And I would love to agree with you that it is remarkable that we lost some games by very close margins..But we lost....And the season before.. Yet .I dont know ..neither do you, what reformulation has to take place in an effort to improve ..If the Bengals can win and retaining players like Higgins and Trey help.. wonderful...But let us hope that paying these enormous salaries don't hamstring the team a couple of years down the road.....Some people love Skyline Chilli ..some people hate it...that's life and just a difference of opinion.

The singular point in all of these arguments is, IF the Bengals were better at drafting outside the top 5, trading your best players at the right time would be a valid point.
They're not, so their best option is to keep the best players and hope that the ones they draft at least turn out to be decent and maybe a couple starters in the future.
More draft picks does not equal a better team with the Bengals in the same way it does with teams like the Chiefs and Eagles.

somewhat agree..they have occasionally done well in the later rounds..I do think those two defensive tackles they drafted last year will turn out to be solid players

I love Skyline and Gold Star. That said, I think Burrow was right (I believe it was him) when he said Cincinnati Chili is more of a sauce. I love it on a Cheese Coney or Spaghetti, but I would definitely not sit and eat a bowl of it like chili. It's too thin and runny. The only exception I know of is Dixie Chili, which is thicker and reminds me of canned Armour chili. None of it is really chili in the sense that I know chili to be.

I've seen you mention the fact players will continue to get paid and live well if they leave here. Well not that fans don't want that but we like because of the talent they have. That's why you want players on your team. Very good players are hard to find you want to keep the ones that are in your team. That simple.

I feel like you just did a roundabout method to unofficially kill all those threads. It's a 110 page jumbled mess now. Lol

Could a plan be to give up a little draft capital we like next year to trade up to get a G and DE in the first round maybe our 2 + 2 and 3 next year could get us a 2nd first potentially

For the sake of just putting some math behind your theoretical bundle, if we ended up picking 19th in the 2026 draft our 2nd this year and our 2nd and 3rd next year would be roughly the same in value as the 29th overall pick this year. If we move our 19th draft spot in 2026 to picking 32nd, that same package would be worth roughly the same as the 34th overall pick, not even a 1st rounder.
So we're talking the 29th-34th pick in exchange for our 2nd and next year's 2nd and 3rd.

Is this new? I don't recall her speaking to the media in the past.
Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!
