A first round pick and a player for Trey??? Bahahaha you’re living in lala land. No team in their right mind would give up that for Hendrickson and rework his contract. Hell no team would give up just a first round pick for him. That would be insanely stupid. His market value at best is a late second round pick and realistically just a 3rd. NFL GM’s would laugh in their face to ask for a number 1 pick and that’s why this franchise’s front office is the laughing stock around the league. So out of touch with how to treat players and what players are worth from a monetary standpoint and trade stand point. Just so out of touch with all the other front offices around the league. What a joke, Trey Hendrickson for a first rounder plus ???

It’s not all that surprising to hear that a team that stubbornly struggled to re-sign its key players is equally as difficult when it comes to trading others. Russini reports that “teams are willing to pay Hendrickson the contract he desires,” suggesting that the asking price on the Bengals’ end is simply too much to get a deal done at this time. Hendrickson will be 30 at the start of next season and has racked up 34 sacks over the last two years. By allowing Hendrickson to seek a trade with another suitor, the belief is the team will eventually sign Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to long-term deals this offseason. Their asking price for Hendrickson could eventually come down, but with the offseason just getting underway, the Bengals could opt to wait to see how things develop in the coming months.
Per rotoworld crediting Diana Russini.

too funny..I think that Joe Burrow and others on this team would disagree with you regarding the bengals paying players.I can think of about twenty eight NFL teams that would love to be in the position that this franchise is with Joe Burrow etc..but thank you for your survey of front offices around the league.....IOts funny...contributors like yourself think a player like Trey is a gift from football god.s.the absolute best but then trash the bengals front office for wanting a first round pick for him

Becton played LG, but Sherff is a RG.
I get the anxiety as each hour passes, it seems FO is in slow motion.
The BS we need to know what we are doing with Chase and Tee is just that, BS. They have the money to fill a huge need. I have no idea why they are being passive to get it done. Get guys to protect the franchise already.
Becton most certainly was a RG last year. Tackle before that.
Fries, Daniels, Becton, Zeitler, and Scherff are all RGs. Jenkins and Banks the LGs.
Becton, Scherff, and Jenkins are still out there.
Donovan Jackson is a LG. IDK about Booker.

Trey should not go anywhere.
the team was playing remarkably well the last 6 games of the season both offensively and defensively..definsive line rookies along with murphy were playing lights out....they need to fine tune ..and they will and with or without Trey and or Higgins ..I think we will have a really great year

It's not tampering negotiating with your own free agent lol. It does seem like the Chiefs and Patriots might get a slap on the wrist.

Ravens were the team who Pats and Chiefs are accused tampering.
It sound like Pats coulld be in very deep trouble (3 guys) and Chiefs could face and smaller fines and only loss of 5th round pick.
If Pats lose #4 pick in 2025 draft Vrbel and FO could be in deep trouble.
Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

They aren't going to take the #4 pick off of the Pats.
The NFL usually gives teams slaps on the wrist. They'll take maybe a 5th Round pick.

Did you click and read the link provided? A team did lose a 1st round pick in the past for severe violations. If Pats did indeed cheat and go after 4 big name free agents prior to the legal tampering perod, that seems severe to me. On other hand Chiefs only appear to busted for going after Stanley? But did they also go after the LT they signed too?
That is what investigations need to determine.

That is what the team is asking and that is the point that flew right over your head. Trey isn't going anywhere.

I don't know for sure but if they cut Moss and restructure like Joe said he would I think they do have enough cap space for adding Teven
Jenkins and Brandon Scherff. Not to mention if they get the Ja'Marr deal done and maybe trade Tee, we will see.

So best case would have been no team willing to pay him that much...but alas a bunch were.

If a team wants Trey, they meet Bengals demands. Why would Bengals trade away the sack leader in 2024 for peanuts to help another team win and make Trey happy? Sometimes in business tough decisions have to be made. But to me this decision for the Bengals is simple, collect a team's ransom or have Trey pay on the existing deal. Or offer him a better deal, but maybe not the 30+ million in wants.
Trey's options are play for the 15.8 million in 2025 or attempt to get more, but none of us were ever paid our worrth (to us employer was always srewing us). Or Trey can find a. team willing to give the Bengals their asking price and give him the raise he desires.
Trey has options, but the team has control.

No team is going to give a 1st and a good player for a 31 year old DE that they then have to pay a huge contract to.
With a late 1st, you can get a DE that makes much less than Trey is asking for. That player likely won't get you 10 sacks though.
At his current salary, Trey is going to hold out all training camp at minimum. And maybe part of the season.
Jadaveon Clowney is still out there.

According to my calculations (which can be flawed), using the off-season rules (top 51), assuming we cut Moss, and that spotrac's numbers for Hill are correct ($8,666,666) AND putting in $7 mil for Ossai, and a negligible impact for Sample....
We have $23.4 mil in cap space.
Now, once the season starts, and you count all 53, the Practice Squad, the 1st rounder signed, and whatever cushion/IR costs, it will be practically lower.
Of course, a Tee/Chase deal and/or a Burrow restructure would open up more.
But, say $16 for Jenkins and $7 for Scherff would be $23. We'd be tapped out pending something on the Big 3 front/restructures, or more cuts. Or a creative contract with Jenkins that has his cap significantly below APY salary.

Thanks Ike. Looks like enough to me for Teven Jenkins and Brandon Scherff, but will have to make some moves.

That is the point and the reason they let Trey test the trade waters. He will come back and sign whatever they offered pretty sure.
He isn't going to sit out unless he just outright retires. His age makes it a now or never deal for him.
