Yeah, no shit. We all knew it was done except the OTHERS that still think Mikey Boy runs the team.

Nice to see it official, but we need a Guard and everyone knows it. Trey can sign his 32 mil per year contract when he gets back from the trade waters.

I just want (don't like that word) hope that Tee talks to Housh about his yoga stuff that helped him get over his hammy issues.

Awesome!

24 pts or less per game is unacceptable though... another season starting 1-3 is unacceptable too.

Let's go 2025!!!

Yep. Me, too. Even if Trey isn't done, with him saying he wants to be in Cincy +and veing under contract), the Big 3 being here has to make us a more desireable FA destination than when that was iffy.

Being able to spread Chase’s out over 5 years certainly helps.

And an incentive laden contract like I was wanting for Tee....

The Bengals will have to serve as their own proof of concept, as they're now almost unprecedented in their QB-WR1-WR2 pay scale (the recent Dolphins are reasonably similar).

I believe these three players can be a Super Bowl core though. Be like the Peyton Manning Colts.

Burrow --> Manning
Chase --> Harrison
Higgins --> Wayne
Gesicki --> Clark (this one's a big reach of course)
Hendrickson --> Freeney (if they can take care of this one)

Obviously all five of these players have much to prove before they can be listed alongside those Colts, but as a model it's at least some kind of structural precedent. Those Colts also benefitted from cheap, effective draft picks like Bob Sanders and a vastly superior OL.

Have some better luck in the draft on the OL and across the defense, and everything is right there for you.

Tee is an often injured, under 1,000 yard receiver and we are giving him 30 a year? Are you kidding me? They caved to outside pressure and now we haven’t gotten better at all, and are now spending 125 mill on 3 guys, none of which make the team any better and this hasn’t been a playoff team in 2 years.
I see no path to getting much better now, which we had to do. Oh well, at least those 7 games a year that all 3 play will be fun.The offense still isn’t even the best in the division.

Cry babies that don't believe in coaching or a possible good draft. We drafted Geno Atkins, we can draft other studs with new Defensive coaches.

Nice post JaggedJimmyJay. I just hope Ja'Marr and Tee get over the young partying stuff and be more like Marvin and Reggie were.

They were no nonsense and all about ball and I respected that about them. This drunk driving stuff can worry a guy like me. Mellow

Also, with Tee and Chase locked up we can just tag Trey if push comes to shove. Twice if need be.

I'd rather have the deal done, but he is under team control for the next 3. We do not have another tag candidate.

Yeah, but would rather him just sign the deal they offered him and be a happy man. Smirk

The entire reason you sign quality veterans is to not rely on the draft at all

Look, I am just saying you already have 4 guys thar are gonna at least get rotational snaps at DT. Period. We signed Hill & Slaton to start. We are not gonna mothball Jenkins nor Jackson. That is a fact.

Campbell graded out much better vs the run last year. As did Hill. Slaton is a run stuffer. As is Jackson. And Jenkins' strength is his strength, not his pass rush.

What we need is interior pass rush. And while Campbell is still good, I think we will most likely go with a younger/cheaper early round pick. But Calais may be around until after the draft.

Honestly those average salaries per year are smaller than I thought for both Chase and Higgins.

Very happy this is done and now we can work on Trey and filling out the roster and the draft.

Now get a defense that breaks top 20 and we have a chance.
