Start Two, Cut Two

Burfict and Nelson had much higher peaks, but also I legitimately don't think they could play in today's NFL. They were already on the border at best during their time. Nelson would routinely get flagged for just normal (but hard) clean hits and that was BEFORE we got to the current "hitting a WR in the air is UR" and "not gently tucking a QB in with a blankey" is RTP era of the NFL.

If ESPN was still broadcasting their "Jacked-Up!" segment I would take Burfict and Nelson... but since we are where we are now with the rules I would take Peko and Williams.

I tried picking players they are likely, or easy, upgrades at the respective position group and is a fairly obvious need/want still today.

NT Domata Peko
RG Bobbie Williams
LB Vontaz Burfict
S Reggie Nelson

I will see how this goes and throw out other hypotheticals if this gets legs. I am hoping this can just lighten the tense offseason threads, take us down memory lane and good old fashioned board discussion on fit, style, etc.

EZ

Start: Bobbie and Reggie
Cut: Burfict and Peko

Peko was ok and Burfict was a penalty/suspension machine.

Give me Williams and Peko. Help shore up both lines. We get those fixed and the rest of our concerns shrink as a result. LB doesn’t really worry me if d line is solid. Nelson would be a nice add but again d line comes first. Build from the lines first.

Give me Burfict and Nelson. The biggest needs are in the trenches but much like the draft I am not reaching for certain positions.
During all of their prime years Burfict and Nelson were better players so take talent over need.

I have to go with Williams and Nelson. Burfict was a decent enforcer, but the NFL has erased that role. Peko was solid, but I don't think represents a dramatic upgrade over Slayton.

For those wondering, Bobbie had an 8.08 RAS, meaning he was plenty athletic enough to play in a modern NFL offense.
