There's no way they don't exercise the 2 year option. It's all a negotiation.

That's what I took from her words, as well.

Quote:“We’ve all been working really hard on looking at a lease extension and renovations that might be part of that,” she said. “And so there are a lot of great ideas out there. It’s just finding a way to bring it all together, make sure everyone’s on the same page, and pulling it together. We seem to have a lot of work to do to make that actually happen.”

I mean, it's just honest and to the point of the questions that she was asked. Not sure how some are contorting her words as "threatening to move" or any such thing.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

The board is taking it in stride per this article - https://www.wlwt.com/article/hamilton-county-commissioner-paycor-negotiations-bengals/64380396?utm_campaign=snd-autopilot&fbclid=IwY2xjawJb5cVleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHSOAtqXlkKHCXx7usDOwWgcFAp8Wb2HyX9UjzrK4vF5XL66jd7Wi-Gj96Q_aem_4yDViymYXoTfL5VbpY_eUw

Summerow Dumas thinks Blackburn's comments were designed to move the negotiating process along more quickly.

"I think it's really strategically to try to move us a little faster, but I'm very confident in the speed that we're taking," Summerow Dumas said. "We're doing what we need to do to be good partners with the Bengals."

I used to think that there's no way any city would accept the Bengals because of Mike Brown and the way he operated things, but now, with Burrow, Chase, and Higgins, it does worry me a little that maybe Katie could move the team.

I hope the city sees how much money they'd lose by letting the team move and does what it takes to keep the team here, so let's just hope that Katie's smart, loyal, and reasonable.

I'd literally be destroyed if the team left.

IF they decided to move tomorrow, there's a lot of steps they'd need to go through. Approvals. Studies. Negotiations with a new city, etc. It's 5 to 7 years at fastest and the league might shut them down.

They don't strike me as the type that would want to relocate too.

This is all about trying to get the state and county to kick in as much as possible.

This organization should sign who we want, at whatever price it takes, serve what we want, stay where we want, and just allow us to continue to slur them.

I CANNOT STAND THEM!!!!

Or would that not apply when the county taxes stop? I would think it would apply indefinitely if the County helped fund PBS and they would have to build a whole new facility that is not taxpayer-funded to get out of this law?

EDIT - Honestly, I also really dislike how cold KB operates. Hardlines everything. Doesn't seem to have a compassionate bone in her body.
Huh? Don't tell us her bluntness hurt your feelings

They have done zero due dilligence with even remotely thinking about moving the team. No city, plot, plan whatsoever. Plus the 500-600 million dollar relocation fee. There is just no chance.

The city has them by the balls.

Maybe because they don't plan on moving the team?

That does make me feel a little bit better because at least we'd have at least two Super Bowls by then.

It just flipped me out because, when Mike was running things, I knew there's no chance because no city would put up with an organization the run the way he did, but now that we're a respectable contender that runs like we have half a brain, it seems like other cities would love to have us.
