Is Germaine Pratt salvageable?

Good times.

Was that the smirk-faced, plinky-eyed propaganda of "Quick Game" for an ad-nauseum excuse of a complete castration on D in a post-game interview?

Like they're only meant to make tackles in the 'Slow Game'?...Looks and sounds like his speed (and I've been as boisterous as anyone when he's made a big play to save our bacon at times.) But those times were few and far between last year, and that Quick Game mantra was pretty pathetic.

This. He needs to listen to Herb Brooks, quit trying to be the hero, and "DO YOUR JOB"

LB's were never great to begin with the lack of any quality run D on DL exposed them more

When you previously had Nick Vigil, Preston Brown, Josh Bynes, and Nick Minter (plus the shell of Burfict's career end) cycling through at LB... instead having two competent LBs at once feels like having superheroes at the time. Combine that with having two years of postseason success for the first time in generations and I could see how folks could get overrated. When times are good, that orange kool aid sure is tasty.

LB play is the reason we had championship runs rather that is big plays and turnovers by Pratt or Wilson in key moments and game sealing plays. We don't go anywhere in the postseasons without those players.

But I give up. Lets get back to the Dalton and Palmer era with HOF stars on both sides of the ball, none of which knew how to win a big game, or could rise to the occassion under the bright lights....

If one and done's are what you guys miss then so be it.

That has to be one of the lamest takes I've ever seen. Wilson is a really good player and Pratt is a good player when he keeps his focus on the fundamental parts of the game. As for the lame argument, even the best LBs will look like dog doo and give up play when playing behind a ramshackle DL.

The only problem with Pratt is that he quit wrapping up on contact and started looking to make a splash play, every play. I'm sure that Golden will put that nonsense out of his head, quickly.

Pratt's not a good player. He was always ok. And last year he was terrible. His big postseason plays fool people into thinking he is good

Look, I understand when you hate a player, you obsess over it. Sure, I ragged on Pratt for missed and delayed tackles all season long. However, he is a good player when he sticks to fundamental football. He got a few lucky, right place, right time plays in the playoffs and now thinks that he can just "make that happen". All he needs is to be brought back down to earth by a sensible coach, and he will be just fine. He has one year left on his contract, I suspect he will be playing his ass off in an attempt to gain a lucrative 3rd contract in free agency.

It’s not just post season play. It’s all of the big games. Regular season included. Last season.  When the season was on the line and it was win or out the race vs Denver. Who saved the game? Pratt. And he came to play.. It’s sprinkled all through his resume in big games.

He can clean up the tackles.

Y’all can’t be more mad at him then Ossai.

Willing to replace him with an aged special teams ace sold to us as on the rise after solid post season play. We’ve read that Nick Scott story before.

Well is seems rather obvious that the team isn't interested in trading him, and they're certainly not looking to pay him to not play. Might as well get used to the idea that he's playing out the final year of his contract with the Bengals, and start looking at any upside to that happening.

Pratt should have been gone before the next year started.

If the majority of players are siding with Ossai when his boneheaded play took any chance of a Super Bowl opportunity away, then they’re the problem.

Good times.

I was 100% surprised Lou didn't bench him after that, but I think that spelled the end of both of them, immediatley.

They were all "quick quick".

Got patty acting it up for all the calls too. We might get an extra win or 2 if Burrow got all the calls.

The funny part is Mahomes got zero calls in the SB and got CRUSHED. He was bred to be slaughtered, all calls every game except the SB.

He got late hit once and he got up, complained, and almost immediately stopped - like he knew, this was supposed to happen.

1000% and that is one of the reasons they made the change o at defensive coordinator..a new voice was necessary.. Pratt when focused is a good..not great LB.. Pratt is not the only player we have on defense that would benefit from a new voice and that is why the team made the change

Logan Wilson is underpaid. There isn't alot of 6'2 250lb Linebackers in the NFL that can be force in run defense but also flip their hips get depth to the 3rd level to be the post safety when running Tampa 2.

Between allowing Germain Pratt to operate autonomously on auto pilot, and the failure to develop the DL and Secondary picks that he was given, Anarumo dug his own grave with the Bengals.

This defense had some disgusting plays last year. Here's one where the defensive line had nothing to do with it.
CB misses tackle, LB misses tackle, S misses tackle.
