Nate's first Mock of 2025...
#1
Okay, here is my first Mock draft using MDD....

1st Round: Tyler Warren TE Penn State - Nolen was there, same with the Safeties and the Ends but I went with the BPA who somehow
fell who I don't think will fall this far. Warren would instantly add an element to our Offense we haven't had, great pass and run blocker
while being able to play TE, H-Back, Fullback and WR if needed. With Erick All's injury, upgrades the Offense with an immediate impact
starter while it doesn't hurt Gesicki who is pretty much a WR anyways.

2nd Round (trade back to 53) adds a 3rd and 4th rounder: Landon Jackson EDGE Arkansas - Athletic freak that can rush the passer
opposite of Trey, great size to put our pass rush in another dimension and also a future Trey replacement.

3rd Round: Marcus Mbow IOL Purdue - Solidifies the interior with a much better Guard, steal in the 3rd. A+ pick here.

3rd Round: Ty Robinson DT Nebraska - Can rush the passer, stop the run, great character and we met with him. No brainer in the 3rd.

4th Round: Jonas Sanker Safety Virginia - Bates replacement finally for FS next to Jordan Battle. Cut Stone to free up money for more
Defensive talent or OL help like Risner. Sanker has the range and instincts to be a stud for us for years to come.

4th Round: Danny Stutsman LB Oklahoma - Steal to play Viper LB for us, great tackler, can cover and rush the passer.

5th Nohl Williams CB California - Too talented of a Corner to pass up on. A+ pick in the 5th.

6th Round (trade up) Lequint Allen RB Syracuse - One of the best pass protecting RB's in this draft that can help Chase Brown carry the
load but can take it to the house and is a good pass catcher as well.

Very solid picks, though im a hard no on adding a TE, too much capital at WR/TE already, so i would not pick Warren that hight,  im in the camp with some others he has some great attributes but also lacks elite speed and average route running, so separation could be a problem at NFL level

Really good mock Nate!
Not big on the Mbow, but the rest of it is solid.

I actually don't think Mbow will last that long.

I geek out and get excited about adding a weapon like Warren in round 1, but defense and more OL protection for Burrow should be a priority this year.

This could be solid for the Bengals.
Sanker may turn out ready to take over after a year or two of development behind Stone (or some other FS next year), but I don't see him as ready fundamentally to take starter reps yet.

While I love Tyler Warren as a prospect, I probably would have instead taken a SAF in Rd 1 and waited for a TE in Rd 4 though.

Chase, Higgins, and Gesicki got the top 3 targets in the offense locked up for the next 2-3 years.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Well done, Nate. I wouldn't complain if it turned out like that.

Thanks Essex. Warren is special, like HOF special, you can't really compare him to Gronk, because he is smaller and a better route runner
and you cannot really compare him to Kelce because he is a better blocker and can play multiple positions. You don't need elite speed at TE,
you just need a player that is a mismatch where ever you put him, that is Tyler Warren.

Mbow is just as good as any Guard we could get in the first round IMO. Couldn't believe he was around in the 3rd in this Mock.

Me too on Warren. Landon Jackson, Ty Robinson, Sanker, Stutsman and Nohl I think would help the Defense quite a bit and Mbow
is one of the best protectors we could get for Burrow IMO.

Could be right on Sanker, but I think he would already be better than what we saw from Geno Stone last year.

I was tempted to take Starks or Emmanwori for sure. I just think Warren could be great. Emmanwori could be too, but I don't know if he fits
our need as I don't know if he is a true FS, Starks does but I don't know if he will be great.

Warren will most likely go top 10. Many teams want Brock Bowers.

Huge fan of Landon Jackson. If not for Shedur he would have been the talk of the combine

My latest mock had Robinson and Sanker as well.

Yeah, couldn't pass on a guy that I didn't expect to be there that would really improve one of the weakest position groups on the team.

I know we got Gesicki, but he isn't an all around TE like Warren by any means. Warren can play TE, H-Back, Fullback, Running Back and split out.

I have loved Warren for a long time. The problem is I think Nolan is the better choice as projected to be one of the best pass rushing DT's in the draft.

Great draft Nate.

Great draft Nate.

Thanks bud, I like Nolen too, but with his character issues and the fact Warren isn't expected to get even out of the top 10 made me pick him instead.

I will disagree with our evaulation of Warren and im not a proponent of taking a TE that high, past 10 years TEs picked in top 20 have had average to marignal success with a top 20 pick.. outside of Bowers none of the others have lived up to their draft postion.

I note that some prefer a defensive player (for obvious reason) or IOL (to protect Burrow) over Warren. But I'm with you, for the diverse skillset you outline (great pass and run blocker, TE, H-Back, Fullback, and WR). And you could add passer, since he was a high school QB and recruited by some teams to play that position. If the Bengals were to land Tyler Warren, then they should go for it on every 4th and 1, no matter where they are on the field. The opposition would  have no idea what is coming with Warren in there.

You don't pass up on someone that skilled and unique -- not when he is also a high-quality individual and hard worker. You might trade that pick for more picks, since Warren would be coveted by other teams, but you don't pass on a sure thing like Warren.

But, as you also state, Warren is unlikely to actually be there.

Noce draft, Nate. I use MDD a lot and Warren falls often. Donovan Jackson is often gettable at #49, too. I do not think either is likely, but I always nab them if there.

I do not think Sanker is starter ready. Though he is a good prospect. Do not like Mbow at all, though we do need IOL.
