Draft Day 2025!!!
#1
I don't think I have ever seen us go into a draft with so many different directions to go in the first round. It may all depend on how the board falls and what trade bait may be out there for us to pick up more picks

I have a feeling we swap 1st rounders with the Texans if one of the top OT are still on the board, they're desperate for Tackles.

It's going to be a fun weekend. I finished at 163 total prospects watched this year.

If we get an OL...DL and linebacker..I will be happy..I think if this team stays healthy we are going to have a tremendous year..aside from the offense playing great the last half of the season ..what was most impressive was the progress of Jenkins and Jackson..And with a new defensive coordinator and OL coach...its going to be fun........STAY HEALTHY JOE BURROW

I'm trying to think of the last time we had 3 rookies in a draft class who both started at least half the season AND were good. We've had them by year 2, but all in their rookie year?

1998 with Takeo Spikes, Brian Simmons, and Artrell Hawkins?

I knew Wilson didn't play much his rookie year which prevented the 2020 class of Burrow/Higgins from having a trio, but I sure 2011 was going to be the answer with Green/Dalton/Boling. I had forgotten Clint Boling missed the majority of that year. (Common thread on those two years being top-4 overall picks.)

Joe, Tee, and Logan. You can nitpick Logan because he was injured but he was good when he played.

Marvin talked about 2005 and 2010 with Dan Hoard rhe other day.

2005 - Pollack, Thurman, Henry
2010 - Gresham, Dunlap, Geno (You can throw Shipley in there too but it was only his rookie year lol.)

2020* Wink

2005, 2006, 2010 (Geno and Dunlap didn't, "start," but they played a ton of snaps. Same with Pollack in '05) and that's all I have.

It's very rare.  I know I posted in another thread that only 11 second round picks last year started 10+ games.  Your chances of getting 3+ rookie starters is very slim.

Say whatever you want about Marvin Lewis but the man could draft defense.

Closest I can think of is 2006, with Maualuga, Huber. And Michael Jonson. Andre Smith was #1 pick, but didn't play till year two.

2009* and I wouldn't classify Huber as a starter, per se.

Also, MJ got more into the rotation once Odom went down, but Fanene started and took over the RDE snaps, with Geathers being a rock at LDE

I am excited to see who we draft tonight as this weekend. We do have a lot of options and the fan base has no one position group what alone concensus player we draft.

I hope we can all remain calm when the team forces us out of our GM seat. We only have 6 picks and very hard to trade back. Also, the team will have to look at guys maybe ranked 20 players beyond the current as room between picks is 32+.

It is almost here and excited to see the Bengal player drafted in round 1, round 2 and beyond.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

I look for them to trade back in the 2nd/3rd round to at least get another couple picks. I'd be willing to bet anything they'll end up with 8 picks this draft.

But a lot of our starters are so bad (D  Sample, Volson, Yoshi, Newton, Stone, Battle) to mediocre (Patrick, Ossai, Pratt, McPherson) that a rook couid be starting PDQ.

When is the last time we had 10 atarters tgat kinda suck? Not even counting CTB.

I firmly believe we will do something stupid.

1) Take a guy with flags (Stewart, M. Williams, Pearce).

2) Trade UP for a guy with flags.

3) Blow the call on the flags a la Burton. Is thar same guy still employed?

4) Ask our guy at #17 to play a spot he's never played and then act all confused when he isn't very good at it.

I don't want a project. I don't want a workout warrior who lack production. I don't want a guy who has to learn a new position. And I don't want a guy who is not sure he wants to bust his butt to win a Super Bowl. And no Eli Apple/CTB style knuckleheads either.

Players not projects. Men not boys.

Hard no: Stewart, Pearce, M.Williams

I lean no, and don't trust our flag checkers, but would be OK, I guess, since the rest of the league seems to be OK: Nolen, Green

Mission Impossible Ecstatic: Carrer, Hunter, Graham, W. Campbell, Membou (yeah  I know what I said about conversions, but I make an exception for those two).

Unlikely to fall but I'm still all Monty Burns "Excellent!": Walker, Warren, Jeanty, Loveland.

In our wheelhouse/range and I am happy: Zabel, Jackson, J.  Campbell, Johnson, Emmanwori, Starks, Harmon.

Not the direction I would have went, but I hope it works: Banks, Simmons, Barron, Grant.

Anything else is WTF?

So we thinking Emmanwori or Campbell in rd1? There's no OG there worth our 1st, right?
