Notes From Training Camp 2025
Question.

Has anyone seen if the Bengals will be practicing against another team this year?

I mean, cool? There’s only one way they could go from that putrid SB OL. It still looks awful on paper.

The forum is up in the air on your stances.  Ninja

When they give me something to actually feel positive about I post that stuff, too (like Burrow sitting in with the defense). Not my fault it’s few and far between compared to the bad shit.

per Google..

No, the Cincinnati Bengals will not be holding any joint practices with other teams during their 2025 training camp. Head coach Zac Taylor has stated that the team will focus on internal development and will not participate in joint practices with other teams this summer. The team will have six full padded practices between their first and second preseason games against Philadelphia and Washington, allowing for focused development without distractions

I swear I do not understand why he and Stewart use the off-brand agents that just screw them over. He saw what happened to Tee when Tee changed agents. Take a clue dude.

I don't really get why the agents are the scape goat. Can they be a problem sure but they are only part of the equation the FO has their share of the problem. Trey has signed two Bengals style low guarantee contracts which would point to the agent being flexible.

Damn. The Bengals and Eagles would have been excellent practice partners because their offense are so different.

Oh I have no doubt that's what (some) folks don't like about both Hendrickson's and Stewart's contract drama.
I don't know if I would consider that a "maturity" thing though, as we tend to see differences of opinion in how different demographics (including generations) of fans think differently in what and how something should go.
Personally, I don't mind if someone goes public about anything, as long as they are mindful that while they have freedom of speech, they don't have freedom of consequence. Them speaking out may put a bad taste in the organization's mouth and that may impact their willingness to compromise or sign you at all.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

RG is Ford's to lose as the incumbent, and Patricks to take as the newcomer. First day depth charts mean squat.

One hidden benefit of Trey and Stewart not being there yet is more practice time for Ossai and Murphy. Burke and Knight also looked sharp and even Geno Stone looked good - Golden seems to be following the pattern from late last season and letting Stone attack more. Obviously this is very early but it seems like Golden is getting his system installed and so is Peters.

They currently have one of the worst IOL’s in the league. But sure, they’re “much better.” We’ve been hearing this crap every season for years. At some point I’d think you guys would stop falling for it.

Trey was making peanuts with NO.
2017- $1,171,288
2018-$578,000
2019- $668,000
2020-$825,000

And everyone said he was a product of the line he played on in New Orleans, and he wasn't a "Real" All Pro because it was the PFWA (or whatever) instead of the AP

The Bengals took a chance on him and gave him a 60-million-dollar deal
2021- $19,976,471
2022- $11,976,460
2023- $18,000,000
2024-$15,049,256
2025- His deal calls for 16 million, they upped the offer to 28 million

I think he owes the Bengals a little grace. I'd offer him a two year, 64-million-dollar deal, and if he turns it down then so be it. Let him go somewhere else for a second round pick.

The problem is they’d only want to guarantee the first year. That’s the issue, not the AAV.

It's not the Bengals fault Trey got old before he became outstanding. He needs to deal with life and reality.

His reality is that he’s the exact same age as TJ Watt, who he just saw get his own 3 year deal with guaranteed money all 3 years.

What did Carl Lawson sign for with the Jets that year? Maybe someone knows off the top of there head. But I wasn't the biggest fan of his and definitely thought seeing the stats that Trey was better than him at the time.

As someone else has said it's the guarantees that are the hold up at the moment. The Bengals need to just go for it and give him all but what would be the last year guaranteed in my opinion. I think Trey holds up and data backs that up but if he does fall off significantly or has an injury I dont see them cutting him before the final year.

Zac kind of indicated that he used joint practices instead of playing guys in preseason.  If that is true, it makes sense that if the vets are playing more early, they don't need that extra interaction.

Besides, last year in the joint practice with the Bears, they lost both Chris Evans and D'Ante Smith for the season

Lawson received a 3 year, $45M contract that off-season. $30M guaranteed at signing.
