well considering one has never played in the NFL and the other has limited experience, i probably say yes, Patrick is a veteran and has been in the league a while, Ford was serviceable last year.  i think it is too early to pull the plug on him, move our experienced center to guard and put in players that have no and little experience in the Nfl. Lets see how they play on Monday, plus as i stated earlier, we also don;t know what we would get out of Karras at guard, but we know what we have with him at center.

Seems like he plans on playing somewhere this year. Says he can play center, tackle or guard. Get this guy in the building.

This is the time of year to find out in training camp and preseason games it is not like Karras and Burrow need the reps together.

After all we are giving second team reps to Volson WTF is that about trying a 6'6 guy at center that has guys getting under his pads at guard and bull rushing him back easy and you think that wont happen at center and Volson ends up in Burrows lap.

Lee and McLaughlin are the future at center to not give them a lot of first string and second string reps is insane and to give Volson those snaps is even more crazy.

We might as well try Karras at RG while he is on the team the guy is 32 you want to wait till he is out of the door before we have a good look at the future centers. Which is Lee and McLaughlin let them get some reps right next to Ted so he can guide them on the field.

Ford is our back up swing tackle that value is almost as high as finding a starting RG we can not count on Ford to play RG.

From what I seen so far out of Patrick is bad when you whiff and do not get a hand on a guy while playing RG is pathetic and will get Joe hurt.

Karras would be a lot better blocker than Patrick at RG I do not see Karras whiffing on a block from a simple swim move. It was not even a stunt which I also seen Patrick whiff on that was the play Joe got hit on in practice.

But yet we are three deep at center.

We have 2 players, both coming off major injuries, neither of whom has played in a regular season game.  IN fact, one of them just took their first team snaps THIS WEEK

if it was a team visit it came to naught.  That was posted a week after there was a lot of speculation he was about to sign.  But he lives in Florida and Tampa is his home airport so who knows

Is that the players fault or the coaches.

Mims never played until he did that can be said for any rookie ever what kind of excuse is that not to try Lee or McLaughlin with the first string to see what we have in them.

It is training camp and preseason time the perfect time to try out youth.

Cody Ford played 152 snaps at LG last year.
He played 62 in Week 13, 90 in Week 17.
Week 13 - 76.0 pass blocking grade, 43.9 run block. 1 total pressure allowed (which was a sack).
Week 17 - 57.6 pass blocking grade, 46.2 run block. 2 total pressures allowed (which were sacks).

His Week 13 was his highest pass blocking grade of the entire season.
Week 17 was better than 5 other games he played last season.

So pressures wise, he only allowed 3.
People might be hung up on the fact those 3 happened to all be sacks whereas he only allowed 2 sacks while at LT (10 games), but he allowed 30 total pressures in those 10 games at LT.

I'm not saying he's good (in fact I really don't care for him), but he has been worse on the right side than the left side in his career.

According to where?
On PFF Premium I can look up snaps and grades by individual position, but I can't see any cumulative ranking by individual position (or if I can, I don't know where it is on the site).

THEY HAVE BEEN INJURED

McLaughlin just started practices after his achilles tear
Lee was injured on day 1 of camp and tore his pec last season

No one has any freaking idea, at this point, what they can do.  And they won't until they are fully integrated into practice

PFF numbers for Risner at RG would be great. Same for Ford if possible.
