Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

People think we should give up picks or players for an average guard when Risner would give you the same but you wouldnt need to give up anything to sign? That makes no sense. Some of these guys still live off their draft hype vs actual NFL production. But why is Risner still available? I mean, people could be getting upset for no reason.

Burton is such a waste of space.... get rid of him already!!!!
Everyone loves the bad boy players....so it seems.. in the NFL they all end up the same.

Our coaches were, in my opinion, a bit arrogant this offseason. I get wanting to give Peters a look at what we have first. But Cappa was shown the door fast. And NE's OL was crap last year. He should know he cannot turn water into wine. And Volson & Ford are crappy. A 3rd rounder, a fifth rounder, and a bargin bin FA/low end starter/backup was always gonna be underwhelming. And the backups are all totally unproven PS level dudes except for Ford, who is versatile but VERY mediocre everywhere he plays. Now, fortunately, Fairchild looks pretty good so far. Credit is due there. But RG is shaky. And OT looks beyond Rivers atm. The depth at OL is crap. Though Volson is not horrid as a backup, though he has been LG only so far. And he has been horrid in pass pro as a starter. OG and C (with Patrick in the mix) are bettercthan last year. OT is worse if you count a healthy Brown as OT3 (or another proven vet).

Just ask, the only reason Risner is not signed to an NFL team is because the Bengals FO is "stupid". Not because brilliant teams such as Philly and SFF have lost their starting guards and haven't brought him in. Not because EVERY team in the NFL could use some upgrade/depth at IOL Not because he just turned 30 and may be asking more than he's worth It's because Bengals ![]()

Yes, there's an issue brewing at RG if things don't go well Monday night but that article has a distinctly negative assessment about a couple players that aren't an issue and anyone that says Cordell Volson is a "possible starter at guard", should have his keyboard taken away. ![]() "Hope is not a strategy"

"It's a work in progress" is hardly ZT with his hair on fire. This may be the last chance to see guys play against starters from another team. If I am on the fence about "is this guy good enough to start" or not, this game is likely the last bit of live game info I get before real games start. Stone, Gesicki, Murphy, and Volson seem out. Turner & Burton likely out. IDK on BJ Hill & Cedric Johnson. Ford may be iffy as well, now. I think OL and safety struggles could trigger FA moves. G & S should have been made long since. OT3 is also an issue, but there is not much help out there. Big game for Patrick, Ford (if he plays) and the fringe OL guys: Lee, Cochran, McLaughlin, Kirkland, Stueber, etc. Even Rivers, can he play decently at guard or is this a total red shirt year? Ditto at S. Anderson, Anthony, & Jules. Simmons is still out there. Gotta say, CB looked shaky as well. Some cheap vet corners still out there. ![]()

We as fans have high standards but we are a contender with Trey signed and playing. I'm concerned at at RG and S but Trey back could get us in the 20-24 range defensively and if they get some turnovers plus a top offense..they have a shot vs anyone.

We're contenders in the sense that maybe 15-20 teams are contenders if things go right. We had Trey last year and had a very bad defense. So bad that it negated having an elite offense.
