Good. I didn't catch any pressers, that's a relief.

I did think he wasn't as crisp as we expect with some of those early throws and holding onto the ball long when pass pro was pretty good.

Burrow wasn't really bad tho. Just not at his best for his standards.

He looked like week 1 Joe. I do think that these reps will pay dividends in the short, and, long run.

It’s preseason, I’m not going to lose sleep over preseason.  It was ugly, really ugly, but there is a 0% chance they will be as bad as they looked last night.

Totally agree.  Chicken Litters everywhere.  New coordinator, new defense, new players and multiple rookies in the mix.  Time to relax.  Isn't preseason about evaluation?

It'll get better.  The good news is there should be some good D-Line options available on cutdown day. At least someone that can set the edge. Ossai shouldn't even sniff the field on early downs.

Bad: The D definitely has me a little worried. I even asked a buddy of mine if Shemar Stewart even played....never heard his name called. Washington averaged like 18 yards a carry on the 1st 2 drives. It looked like flag football, with absolutely no tackling. I hope it's because of vanilla D....yikes.

Good: Offense will be fine. I know he won't start, but that Mitchell Tinsley made some tremendous catches last night. Could he have moved his stock up some?

He left the game after a play he reached for his chest. He may have come back after but I dont see a way that we dont sign Risner today Rivers showing some promise. I dont think Patrick will be a concern for long.

Relying on first and second round picks to come in and change a defense around is not a recipe for success.

Who's the last good defensive first or second round player we've drafted? Jessie Bates? Overall, we've hit on like 3 defensive draft picks in the past decade. THE LAST DECADE.

Now you want those unproven guys to come in and flip this defense? It's just not going to happen.

I think the writing is kind of on the wall with the free agent LB they brought in and then drafting two in mid rounds.

Ossai is not a 3 down lineman he is a pass rusher at best.

We need to be bigger and more stout at DE and playing DT there is not the answer WTF was Howard Cross doing at DE he looked so slow.

Cam Sample, Shemar or Murphey anyone is better than Ossai against the run at DE.

Just saying, those are not mid round rookies. Let’s just be a little more accurate.

To be fair, most rookies (1st rounders especially) have not had the opportunity to showcase their ability first year.

If I recall correctly, I think you were on the “our WR is the deepest in the league” train last year. Yet outside of Chase and Higgins, it was all unproven.

Just relax, it’s preseason, it doesn’t mean much. I’ll reiterate, it was ugly, but that’s why you have preseason.

Semantics, but:

Early Rounds (1st and 2nd):
These picks are expected to become starters and potential cornerstone players for the team.
Mid Rounds (3rd and 4th):
These picks are considered contributors who can potentially fill starting roles or be valuable depth players.
Late Rounds (5th, 6th, and 7th):
These picks are often viewed as long shots to make the roster and may be considered developmental players or projects.

The roster management on defense has scripted this. Pure and simple. Battle awful RAS score. Passed on Bates. Haven’t signed Trey. Free Agent whiffs recently. Nick Scott?
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Im saying we have drafted 3 good defensive players overall (even past their rookie years) in the past 10 years.

It's preseason, but we've seen mostly this same personel as last year. It's hard to have optimism when the sample size from last year is there. Slayton and and a rookie LB isn't enough to evelate the D in my opinion. I hope my opinion is wrong.

Duke Tobin's sales pitch to the front office is it's all the coaches faults not mine.  A new DC and D-line coach will make guys like Battle, Murphy all my 2nd and 1st rd. CB's  and DT's look good ect. Alexander and his ketchup bottle was the problem, It's Jim Turners fault, Its Frank Pollacks fault. I just hired a coach who does Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu it will fix all the offensive line problems have Hobson write the article. End of the year Bengals don't make the playoffs , Tobin lets fire Zac and Darrin Simmons !

This has him at 9.3 RAS. Hardly awful.

DKJ is going to start. Burks will get playing time. Carter will contribute and possibly take over for Logan Wilson eventually?

I do get not blowing up Jayden Daniels in a preseason game.  I just wish the Washington player would have reciprocated without doing a horse collar on Joe.

Yeah teams play vanilla on offense and defense in preseason.

All to really look at in this game is how we played starter vs starter. Forget the rest of the game.
