Primetime and LT got in a heated debate about whether Burfict's shoulder hit to Brown's head was intentional or incidental.
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-gameday/0ap3000000620215/Deion-and-LT-debate-Burfict-hit-on-Brown
http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl-news/4690738-deion-sanders-vontaze-burfict-penalty-antonio-brown-steelers-bengals
Deion says that pretty much, as a defender, you don't know that Brown will not catch that ball, but if he does and stays upright, Burfict is playing it to make a hit into the chest/gut of Brown. He also says that if the hit was intentional, Burfict would not have tucked his shoulder and arm in.
I can see that Burfict could have been playing to put a hit into Brown's chest/gut to ensure Brown doesn't catch the ball or at least not allow him to advance beyond the spot of the hit. I actually thought that when the play happened, and the fact that others (especially someone like Sanders) think that too means I might not be completely crazy.
With that said, if Burfict was trying to do that, trying to wrap-up tackle rather than a hit to the chest/gut probably would have been a smarter way to stop Brown and reduce the chance for any unnecessary roughness call.
Your thoughts?
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

Man it's total BS, Burfict could have blown that guy up. If you want to give him a penalty let him earn it.
I predict, 100%, that Antonio Brown is bullshitting that he may not be able to play next week.

I agree with Deion...mostly.
Vontaze was coming full steam and veered his head to avoid helmet contact. Although, I do think he could have avoided the shoulder contact as well if he wanted to. But Vontaze likes contact. They were just talking about him on the radio today and comparing him with LT, Ronnie Lott, and other HoFers in the way he inspires fear in other teams.
But what we need to realize at this point is that Vontaze and Jones' penalties were less about what actually happened on the field that night and more about them and their histories/reputations. It shouldn't be that way. But that is how it is. They received nastyass questionable penalties from the refs merely because they have reputations around the league as thugs. And because of that, the refs handed the game to PIT.
Those are the hard facts. I don't like it anymore than you do. We had a league-sanctioned sh*t sandwich shoved down our throats.

If Burfict had hit Brown right as the ball arrived then I might agree. but the ball flew through Browns hands when Burfict was still a few yards away. Burfict then lowered his shoulder and turned it into Brown. That is illegal and should draw a flag everytime.

I going to add something to this. If you watch Shazier's hit on Gio, you'll notice Shazier tucks his head and leads with his helmet before the hit while Gio is still moving. Basically, he doesn't know where exactly he is going to hit Gio outside of it being lower than his head. Gio realized what was happening and froze for just a millisecond while he was deciding where to try and move. For this reason, and the fact that Shazier isn't know for headhunting, I give Shazier the benefit of the doubt. Vontaze should have had that same benefit of the doubt IMO.

Deion could play some football, but listening to him talk is almost painful at times...

Even though I think the Burfict hit was a penalty, I still think we got robbed. Shazier should have gotten a penalty (and wiped out the turnover) on the Gio hit, and Porter should have drawn a penalty that would have offset Pacmans stupidity.

Indeed it is....until he went to Dallas....I was a Deion fan. LOVED him in the Garnet and Gold, and was entertained by him in Atlanta.

If he's good to go today it's a big story and people will wonder if he really was hurt from the Burfict hit. If he can't go at the last minute, it not only affects how the Broncos might have to game plan, it takes the scrutiny off of him possibly faking anything.
If he has a concussion, he's not playing. Haven't heard of too many people playing the week after a concussion. It's usually pretty automatic that you are gonna miss at least one game.
None of it will really matter though, they are gonna get beat with or without him.

Porter should've been flagged immediately, so there's no "Pacman's stupidity", then Burfict and Porter offset.....

Scary thing is, this was a playoff officiating crew... supposedly the "best of the best". Imagine what it is going to be like next year with just an average, everyday crew...

I agree with Wyche. If the Porter penalty is called in a timely way, the Pacman penalty never occurs. They walk it back 15 and basically erase the Burfict penalty. Then they are left with a 60 plus yard field goal., if we hold them one more time.
By the way, wasn't it Porter, back in playing days, who accosted Levi Jones in a casino somewhere, and basically roughed him up and actually took something from him? Porter did this, of course, with the assistance of his posse, a bunch of fellow thugs. I'm a little fuzzy on the details. Anyone else remember?

Yes, Porter and his gang assaulted Levi Jones in Vegas during the offseason. He was fined 3 game checks.

Porter is such an asshat, he was ejected from a game once before it even started.
I really don't know how PIT fans can go around with a straight face claiming the Vontaze or Jones are thugs, when they repeatedly claimed Porter and Harrison weren't.

That one year with SF was the best of Deion's career, IMO. Best cover corner of all-time.
