"Alex Marvez reports that it appears as though former Dolphins DC Kevin Coyle will return to the Bengals as their DBs coach."

So not finalized, but looks imminent.

Coyle jumped into that spot knowing he'll be the next DC after Paulie G.

Considering all the promotions our coaches get (Zim, Jay, Vance, Hue, Coyle himself, etc), taking a job with the Bengals should be a pretty easy choice. Not to mention it's one of the safest jobs in the NFL.

Yep.  You're either moving on to better or here for life.

And, you have a job if you do move onto to something better and fail. like Hue and Kevin

Coyle got flushed out with the terrible HC who hired him and had lost the locker room.   Extenuating circumstances, I would say.

I'm happy with Coyle coming back to the Bengals.  Some guys are at their best when they work directly with the players, teaching them and perfecting their technique.  He deserved his chance, and any other chances moving forward, for career advancement.  Welcome back, Kevin Coyle!

Doesn't change that he is an elite position coach.

I was just mitigating his perceived failure.

Great news on both counts.

Good work Bengals.

I know. My response was adding to that ...

Down here fins fans are worried the last time they hired a Cincy DB coach to be DC they hated him.

I actually think the downfall of Coyle down here was that he ran a complicated defense that was not attacking. People were frustrated.

I'm surprised he didn't run Zim's D.

He did. But Coyle is a real cerebral coach. I have heard him speak at clinics before so I can see where he could have let checks get out of hand

I guess every guy is going to want to put his own stamp on things.

I'm glad he's back.

Anyone think Dalton will have input in regards to the new OC?
Everything in this post is my fault.
