Early Reports Are Positive For Eifert's Injury
#1
I was wigging out and figured that, with our luck, Eifert would be out for all of next season and would have a limp forever, but 247 Sports says that early reports are positive:

Quote:The worst case scenario for any player participating in the Pro Bowl is to come out with an injury, which is what happened to Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert on Sunday night.

Eifert left Sunday's Pro Bowl in the fourth quarter in a walking a boot. Fortunately, early reports on the injury indicated the injury is not serious.

"Initial tests on Eifert were good," reported Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com Sunday night. "When he gets back to Cincy there'll be more tests to hopefully confirm nothing major."

Eifert suggested the same following the game.

“I don’t really know what happened. I jammed my heel. I’ll be good,” Eifert said, per Bengals.com.

Great news and sounds like he'll be back soon and be 100% next year, which is amazing because our offense can be one of the tops in the league with him and everyone else healthy.

Yeah right. The Bengals have a way of hiding the severity of injuries. Remember when Burfict was only supposed to be out a few games last year then he missed half of this season too. I hope it isnt one of those.

Eifert is a tough guy. He's endured multiple injuries just like Gronk. He'll be fine and back next year ready to win the division again.

Just wait until he gets back to Cincy and the Bengals docs get ahold of him. Lol. After this, let's hope he makes it back by 2018 Big Grin

the TE position is ruff... They dont get the benefit of protection most the time like WRs do. even though they are receivers half the time.

Luckily, he wasn't even in Cincinnati when this report came out, so let's hope that it's legit.

Was how he came down and all, had nothing to do with being made of glass.

If you're falling from moving at a decent speed with a 200 lb dude landing on you, I'm thinking you'd break something too.

As per the front page, it's only a sprain.

Just a sprain ankle. All he'll need is rest.

Like I said, not made of glass, and, like McC, Xeno, and ASU said, it's just a sprain:

Quote:The Bengals got good news Tuesday on tight end Tyler Eifert less than 48 hours after he left his first Pro Bowl in a walking boot.

After being examined by Bengals foot specialist Jim Amis, the club said he suffered only a sprained foot and after proper rest it won’t cause him to miss any off-season activities.

Eifert said he jammed his heel early in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s Pro Bowl in Honolulu on a pass down the seam he nearly corralled for a 35-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Jameis Winston, but saw the ball squirt out of his hands as he went to the ground.
On the previous play he made his first Pro Bowl catch, an 11-yarder over the middle.

We still should take it easy on him, but he has all winter and most of Spring before he needs to start any major work on it.

We're good to go.

Next season will be a hell of a year.

ThumbsUp

This is another reason why the pro bowl is pointless.

Just another injury to Eifert, wonderful...

Dude tore his labrum in off season workouts after the 2013 season. So it's not like Pro Bowl/No Pro Bowl is the deciding factor on a healthy off season for Eifert anyway. (Not that I think the Pro Bowl is worth anything anyway, I just didn't want it to be the sole blame on this.)

Happy about this, he will be back no problem.

Give this guy some dough man, he is a major reason why our Offense was so potent in the Redzone last season.

Don't let this guy hit FA.

He's still two more seasons away from FA. Three if they use the franchise tag. There's no risk of losing him as long as the Bengals want to keep him.
