Broncos need a QB

Funny how the brain works. I read Manziel had been cut, then came here and swore this thread was titled "Browns need a QB".

Teams like Denver roll the dice and guess what ? It pays off some times in Lombardi trophies.

Plus we had a serviceable back up in Ryan Fitzpatrick. Did not help us win anything and McCarron will travel the same path while walking away to try and become a starter with no reimbursement for team.

Bengals made a good draft pick with McCarron and it is time to be rewarded. At time Andy was on fence but not anymore.

The window of opportunity is shrinking quickly and the time to roll dice at a championship is now.

No more drafting players for years down the road or not trading valuable commodities that are not even starters.

There are aging vets that can be brought in to fill that roll until another is drafted.

To the first bold:
Uh... that's the exact opposite of what happened. They didn't roll the dice. They kept a competent backup who helped them in a few games until the starter (Manning) returned. If you want to roll the dice like Denver, keep AJM for two years and then let him walk.

To the second bold:
Trading your backup QB for picks is drafting a player for down the road. Honestly, who are we going to get with a second-fourth round pick that's going to start? Outside of a wide receiver (which is a gamble in any round), there's almost zero chance whoever we draft is going to supplant someone this year. DT and LB are needs, but Marvin is not going to start a rookie at either of those spots unless there's a catastrophic accident and every member of the line or LB corps doesn't play.
