Just saw this.
Hope it doesn't bite the Steelers...seemed he was headed that way.

This guy is good, might not be as fast as he once was, but he has an extremely high football IQ, can play center field. Hope they won't see receivers inexplicably running wide open through the secondary nearly as often.

This is a solid signing by Ozzie maybe. Of Course Weddle is older so high risk of wasted dollars if he is injured. The Ravens have a history of late of lots of dead cap money.
I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

Here goes Mr Capologist again
It looks like they actually did more of a front-loaded contract for him - 4 years/$26M with only $13M guaranteed, and $9M the first year. If (and it's a big if) he's got nothing left, then his contract doesn't prevent him from being cut due to a lot of dead money.

seems a bit high in pay.. 2nd highest contract for a free safety at his age and a down year last year.. I am glad they signed him over Nelson though.. Nelson has much more upside after last season.

Will Hill 10 game suspension coming. Explains Weddle
Nope doesn't explain Weddle. Safety was an area that needed addressing. However they now cut Hill instead of cutting Webb, Elam, Lewis.

It does explain having some more cap money (cutting Hill) and a need to sign Weddle. If the guy stays healthy, he is a very good safety.

It explains Hill was an idiot. He was already on a very short leash. I thought this time was going to be a year long ban. At his salary what team wouldn't have cut him??

Skill-wise, Webb should have been cut. Hill, though, was a bit boneheaded and cutting him over Webb helps more with cap.

I totally agree, he is an idiot and even though the cost was a lot of dead money for the Ravens, he needed to go. It was a no brainer.
