Seriously, if we're going to keep selecting this all-time team, can we get someone to start the threads who actually knows the players' names? Or someone who can spell them correctly. It's starting to get ridiculous.

Alright. Hold up just a second. I'm totally miffed that you excluded my dude, Gary Burley.
8 year Bengals career;
68 starts
324 total tackles
31.5 sacks
and a hand full of forced fumbles.
Any list without Burley is not a good list. And it's not just because he's the #1 reason i'm a Bengals fan.

I chose Krumrie and Atkins. But leaving off Reid was difficult.

Yep. And what the hell is Thornton doing on the list?

I picked Krumrie by a nose.
If I could read, I would have picked both noses.

Mike Reid is the no-brainer.
The second spot is between Krumrie and Atkins. Geno has to show he can come back and string together a few strong seasons to surpass Krumrie.

Well, I mean, Geno just has to get 3 sacks this season to surpass him. But Krumrie was a tackling machine.

Tim Krumrie is an obvious choice for obvious reasons. Geno Atkins has 32 sacks after only 5 seasons and is a once per decade type of DT. So, imo Atkins is an obvious choice as well.
That said, I had to give one of my picks to Dan Wilkinson simply because the dude gets zero love and is another very underrated talent from the 90's. His #99 jersey was the first Bengals gear I ever owned.

I think what makes it more impressive is that he had a torn ACL and came back from it, played hurt, yet still has those numbers and shows dominance.

I've got to go Krumrie and Reid. As of today he and Geno both have a 5 year Bengal Career. Reid was just more dynamic. 44 sacks over a 4 year stretch and he battled injury during one of them. If Geno is truly back to Geno he might supplant him this year; but as pf today I gotta go with Reid.

Maybe. But Atkins is gonna win because most of the voters are young.
I wonder if Atkins will ever "be back" without Zimmer coaching the D.

I had to go Krumrie and Reid. Big Daddy is right there with them in a very close 3rd. Geno comes anywhere close to old form this season and he'll edge out Reid.

I honestly did not think that was the issue last year. I think him getting a full offseason in should help & getting snaps in preseason should do wonders. I think that was his biggest issue last season is that it took him a while to get in shape.

Mike Reid had 44 sacks in 4 years. If Geno is once in a decade, then Reid is once in a half century because no other DT has done anything like that in the nearly 50 years the bengals have existed.

The only way to properly compare Atkins and Reid would be to compare them to their peers.
Does anyone have a link for the unofficial* sack leaders from 1970-74?
Until then, maybe people shouldn't be so snide. Older doesn't always = better, and everyone's opinion is valid when it comes to something so subjective.

You may be right, and I hope you are.
I just have a sneaking suspicion, though.
