I'm leaving for Vegas on Friday and, assuming I'm either up money or around even, I'm going to place some bets on the Bengals for next season.
I was checking out Vegas odds for the 2015 NFL season.
We're 33 to 1 to win the Super Bowl, which I believe we have our best shot to win if we lean on Hill and let him carry us to the Promised Land. Seahawks were one play from winning two in a row with Wilson as their QB, which Dalton is/can be that good, and our defense should be nasty, so it's worth the bet. I'll probably put a hundred on that.
We're 16 to 1 to win the AFC Championship game, which, depending if I'm up, I'll probably put 100 on that, too, because I like our chances to get there but the Seahawks would be able to shut-down Hill with their D in the Super Bowl.
We're 2.2 to 1 to win the AFCN, which I don't know if I like that bet because, while I think we'll win it, the return on the bet just isn't enough to risk the bet. I might parlay it because, if I bet us to win the AFCN, the Colts to win the AFCS, the Broncos to win the AFCW, the Seahawks to win the NFCW, and the Packers to win the NFCN, I can win $1,020 off a $100 bet, which the other four are heavily favored to win their divisions, and I love our chances.
I can't find lines on who will lead the league in rushing yards, but I'd love to bet big for Hill because he was 8th in the league last year and 13th in carries, so I'm liking his chances to win.
I don't know any other good bets to make, but please let me know if you have any sites that show good bets to make!

Right now betting that the Bengals win 9 or more games would be a good bet. I think the line ATM is 8.5. Putting a small bet that a team goes 0-16 this season isn't a bad idea either, because I wouldn't be surprised if the 49ers didn't win a game.

I would not bet on Hill to lead the league in rushing yardage. Once teams see some film, it is too easy for DCs to make the right adjustment. I'm not saying that I don't think that Hill will have a huge season, I'm just saying that the running game will get shut down in a few games.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Take that $300 and bet us to win the SB at 33 to 1. Then, start dreaming about how you're going to spend that nearly $10k

Hopefully, he won't have enough carries to lead the league. Wouldn't mind seeing him lead in ypc.

Not this year, grasshopper
With a healthy Hill, Geno returning to form, MJ back to compliment Dunlap and the other DEs, young corners coming of age, etc., we're going to crush whoever we play in the playoffs (assuming we stay healthy)

49ers are at 7.5 for the over/under right now, which is amazing, so I might bet that big because there's no way they get there.
I think we can easily get to 9, but I think a lot of the games will be close and hard-fought.

But it will also explode for lots of yards in a few games.
Also, with the amount of weapons that we have, it's going to be tough for a coordinator to sell-out to stop the run.

Have to hedge bets.
For one, it protects against the unexpected, like our entire starting offense getting sick the day of the Super Bowl
Secondly, it also makes it more fun. Making money is good, but the thrill of having more things going on is great.

Give him 20 to 25 a game and he could lead the league in rushing.
20 a game at his current 5 yards a pop gives him 1,600, which is still 200 below Murray's from last season, but I don't see Murray repeating those numbers, and I think Hill putting up big numbers from the get-go gives the offensive line confidence to open up bigger holes and gives him the continued swagger to dominate defenses.

1. I hope my bookie has that line on San Fran because that's free money. There's a very real chance that they only win 1 or 2 division games, if that, not to mention they play the AFCN and NFCN this year.
2. Do you really think Hill is getting 320-400 carries this year? Pass me some of whatever you're smoking.

Way too literal, Brad. I just figured if you're going to be flushing your money anyway, you should do it up right. Kinda like if you're going downhill in a car with no brakes, just say '**** it' and floor it. Yeah, that's about like betting real money on Marvin and Andy leading us to a SB win.

Pretty much guaranteed money here. Probably would take this advice. Seems to be sure money considering past experiences.

Bet that Marvin at some point in the season will giggle and say that's a good thing. . In fact I'd go embezzle as much money as possible to bet on that one and have the jet warned up for take off..
The truth is don't gamble unless you already know the outcome before hand. It's the only sure bet. .

I like doing a bet for the Bengals to win the AFCN, the AFC, and the Super Bowl.
But, I do hedge the latter two although not at a clean 50%. Maybe around 75%.
Outside the Bengals, I like betting against rookies. I think Jameis Winston will struggle mightily in his first year. I don't know Tampa's over/under, but I see them winning 4 games or less. Even though I like Gruden, I don't see good things coming out of Washington this year.
My surprise team is the Jets. Everyone is raving about the Bills and Dolphins offseason's and new coach in Buffalo, but I think the Jets have become a much better team overall than either.

I'll give some free advice to people in a gambling thread....
Don't gamble if you let your homerism/hater glasses get in the way of making good bets.
Don't bet on Jeremy Hill if you're one of the "omg Hill is going to rush for 3,000 yards this year!" guys.
Don't bet on the Bengals winning the Super Bowl if you're one of the "this is our year!!!! (every single year)" type of guys.
Don't bet props on random bottom of the roster players if you're one of the "This LB from South Eastern Transylvania Technical Institute is really going to break out this season!!!" guys.
Don't bet on other teams over/under wins if you too emotionally invested in said team. Ex: If you're a guy that hates the Steelers way too much, never bet on the Steelers games.
Don't bet on the Bengals losing 10 games if you're a Marvin/Andy hater and can't get over the fact that they've both had their share of success.
This doesn't mean to not have some fun and throw some money around when you feel like it on your favorite player, but don't always expect to win those types of bets. I'm just saying, most of the guys I know that usually end the season up the most money are those that aren't too emotionally invested in their team and can set aside any of their personal feelings to make smart moves. Betting on sports has SO much luck involved, and absolutely nothing is in your control except for trying to minimize dumb bets.

DEN was getting 12/1 odds on winning the SB at the Golden Nugget. Put $ on them missing the Playoffs.

I bet you love this show...
Don't the Broncos have a message board or something for you to follow?
