We saw them pick up the flag on Blount in the NE game. He stuck his hand up in Shawn Williams facemask, and it was blatantly seen and called... but then picked up.
Yesterday, an official threw a flag on Norman for illegal contact and ALSO threw his hat because a Redskins safety speared AJ Green helmet to helmet. I saw him explaining to the other refs that he threw his hat because of the targeting of a defenseless receiver. Literally read his lips on television. They then went on to say that there was no flag for unnecessary roughness.
Why are officials allowed to pick up their flags? They obviously came out for a reason.
