Does the Suck Extend to next year?
#1
Assume Marvin keeps his job (we all know he's here to stay.)

Will the Bengals turn it around next year.

Young players might get better, Peko may be replaced with Biillings, etc.

There's a lot of factors to keep in mind. Assume we extend Rex, Zeit, and Dre.

"The Suck" started mid-season in 2015 and since then the Bengals have been 0-11-1 against teams with winning records.

We'll have a 3rd place schedule which could help.

It's hard to say. I doubt we keep Zeitler and Kirkpatrick. Maybe 1 but not both.

Guys like MJ, Peko, Maualuga need replaced.

Generally when you play younger players instead of veterans...there is a decline in play from mistakes.

I think we can win 6-8 games next year.

They will suck because the Brown family runs the team and they are completely clueless about the game of football. Proof the Bengals have only ONE player in the HOF. All this time and one guy in the HOF. Its just a business to them. They don't care about winning only the money they make.

Wow... now that is eye-opening, if correct.

Young players get older and more experience though, so bright spot.
Tyler Boyd might start to really shine. Same with Bodine and Og.

Yes it will

The one and only way this team (Dalton, AJ, Geno, Whit, Carlos, Eifert etc.) has any shot is to jump head first into free agency and fill all the holes. And that will never happen under Mike CLown. The window will shut before the draft can help theses guys. SAD

No. Marvin will return (he's under contract) and if history is any indication, he will have this team back in contention. I know that's an unpopular outlook around here, that Marv will be back, but it's most likely.

Hopefully they at least try to go after a proven player in a Center and in the Secondary, instead of relying on drafted players to step up.

They have a proven team, just need to sure it up some.

The suck has extended into every year since 1968, in one way or an extreme other. No reason to assume it'll change.

As long as Lewis is here, the suck is here to stay

It would take a player like Ray Lewis to change the mindset of this team despite their coach that has no clue.  That player isn't on the roster.

And if he was, he would probably be promptly benched, like Fej was after making two outstanding solo tackles today.  We will have none of that aggressive playmaking, young man!  You play scared and conservative if you want to stay on the field with this team.  I just don't get it.

These players aren't used to losing. You have to wonder if they'll lose faith in the front office wanting to win if Marvin is retained. Lose the team, and yes it'll continue next season.

It appears that they already have. And yes it will continue. Maybe not as badly as this year, but it will continue. Sick

Marv loses wildcard game next year, then the Brown family re-ups his contract until 2050.

It very well could suck but there is enough good pieces to build around too.

Yet it will take a great draft with getting an extra 2nd or 3rd pick for McCarron as well.

Plus adding a several key pieces in FA.

Changing HC, a few assistants, and the kicker to boot.

This is a long shot to happen since we never make big slashes in FA and have whiffed on a few drafts lately.

Adding this season #1 overall draft pick and Billings could help out some though.

While Nugent gets tagged.

We can contend for the AFCN if we play our cards right. Pitt and Bal have been on the decline for a while now.

Following a 4 win 2008 season, the team went 10-6 and swept the AFC North in 2009 (granted, having Carson back made a HUGE difference but still, hell of a turnaround).

Following another 4 win season in 2010 (after losing Carson, Chad, TO and having rookies start their first season after a lockout) the team still found a way to win 9 games and make the playoffs.

If we follow that trend, after another dismal season we should make the playoffs. Anything can happen, obviously coaching changes would be a huge addition by subtraction but I'm not counting on that. We'll see how it goes

If Marvin is back the suck continues.

He is as steady a head coach as nugent is a kicker. Both are mentally broken.

He has lost the team. Most of the good coaches are gone.

We have to clean house and get some new leadership.
