Bring Jeff Fisher in as DC/Position Coach?
#1
Would you guys consider bringing in Jeff Fisher to be our next DC (if Guenther leaves) or a position coach on the defensive side?

I think the man has some defensive expertise with that Rams defense/d-line.

Fisher blamed almost everyone other than himself for how the Rams lost recently. Players will not respect a coach who does that.

He's a loser. Don't need another one of those on the staff.

Marvin's clapping and giggling and 8-8's are still better than Fisher looking lost, clueless and going 6-10...or worse.

Not sticking up for the guy.....but hasn't Todd Gurley pretty much said the same things about the team?

Every time some other coach with a familiar name gets fired, some yahoo on here thinks we should pick him up.

No way I want Fisher here in any facet. Don't want to risk Mikey replacing Marv with Marv 2.0.

No thanks.

Wasn't impressed with him one bit on Hard Knocks.

I guess it's fair to say that some of you don't remember Fisher as coach of the Titans? He literally had them on the doorstep of winning the Super Bowl, versus the Rams. When we were a 5 team division, with the Titans in it, his teams had epic battles with the Bill Cowher Steelers. Fisher's style goes well with our division. He has just had a tremendous streak of bad luck with the Rams. Injuries, injuries, injuries, And now, a team that thought they were all "Hollywood", and crumbled when they couldn't live up to the hype. Not his fault.

More than anything, Jeff Fisher's lack of recent success has been because his teams haven't solved the QB problem. He had quite a bit of success with McNair. Young, Bradford, Keenum, Goff... Not so much.

Heck no, Jeff's future lies as a 1970's retro porn star

Meh, give Marvin Austin Davis/Shaun Hill/Kellen Clemens/Case Keenum and see how many wins he tallies.

That's one of my main knocks against Marvin.  Palmer and Dalton aren't exactly Favre and Rodgers, but the guy has had some pretty good luck at QB.

Good points, but that SB was 17 years ago. Plus Fisher's teams are known for dirty play, and you know that won't fly in this division with anyone but the Steelers. Rooney would cry and get his way. I guess I'd take Fisher over Marvin, but he's far from a thrilling candidate to me. His offense has always sucked. He's had bad luck with QBs, but still...

I guess one good thing I can say for him is that he had some big wins against the Steelers in his Titans days. Even after they left the division.

No. As has already been mentioned, any coach brought in here becomes a Head Coaching candidate when Marvin leaves. I am wishfully hoping for something better after Marvelous Marv.
