Yeah, but it could get him killed.

Get Andy Dalton as far away from Joe Burrow as possible. Unless he wants to talk to him about the importance of charity I don’t want Burrow learning anything from Dalton.

That said, there's atleast some risk to Burrow as he kind of came from nowhere to do this all.

This garbage o-line will get Burrow Carr’ed/Couch’ed. The only guys that merit a spot at this point are Jonah and maaaybe Hopkins. The rest are replaceable and/or need to be challenged for their spot. Failure to address the line in a meaningful fashion and starting scrubs will torpedo next year as surely as a scrub LB corps will.
Through 2023

Mike Brown’s Owner/GM record: 32 years  223-303-4  .419 winning pct.
Playoff Record:  5-9, .357 winning pct.
Zac Taylor coaching record, reg. season:  37-44-1. .455 winning pct.
Playoff Record: 5-2, .714 winning pct.

Right on. Generally when you hire a new coaching staff, you bring in some upgrades. The Bengals whiffed last year.

They kind of get a chance to reset that this offseason with Burrow. They have a chance to go out and bring in a quality lineman or 2. We'll see if they do.

Have you even been watching the games? The OL has been playing fine lately. The narrative that Andy Dalton is some iron man and no other QB would survive behind our OL is beyond stupid. Last time I checked Finley was still alive. He sucks, but he’s still alive...

Again, are you even watching the games? They’re keeping Andy perfectly clean, and are mauling people in the run game.

That's the thing. He's doing some great things in college, but he's surrounded by a great team. Here...he'll have one of the worst rosters in the NFL around him.

That's a HUGE difference.

But, you don't sit him out until the roster is ready.

IF you can trade Andy for a 2nd round pick...which I'm skeptical of...but people have said...you do it.

And, they need to put butts in the seats next year.  If Andy starts and continues playing in 2020 with Burrow riding the pine, l reckon we'll soon be looking back fondly on the days when the announced attendance was 39k.

Free Agency ain't over until it is over.

First 6 years BB - 41 wins and 54 losses with 1-1 playoff record with 2 teams Browns and Pats

There is NO way that we trade back out of the 1st pick, that would really finish a hell of a lot of our fans with the team.
The O-line have been ok in the last few games, the problem is Dalton just cant help throwing interceptions

Indeed. I can't think of a good reason to start Dalton next year...unless we're tanking again.

Honestly, with how we don't sign free agents...we need to get our high picks on the field in Year 1.

I think people see our roster and the needs we have and the allure of multiple picks is enticing to them...but this team would screw up multiple picks.

Like say we could trade back to 5, take Herbert or Tua, get a 1st next year and a 2nd this year. That seems enticing, doesn't it? But, that would entail us scouting Tua and Herbert and being right on them. Burrow is kind of the no brainer.

Any idea what the tie breaker is?

Strength of schedule and the Giants would pick first

A couple of games do not a season make. 3/5 of this line are replacement level talent. Both guards and the RT warrant upgrades. If you’re going to burn a #1 overall pick on a QB you better protect him. Failing to do so leads to predictable results. Conversely, not trading Dalton at the deadline has proven to be a big mistake as he’s not improving his trade value. At this point they might get a 3rd for him.

No one is saying we shouldn’t upgrade the OL, but they’re not playing bad at all recently. The “QB X will get killed” nonsense needs to stop.

The LSU OL is really not that great.

It's over, just stop it; Andy has been protected just fine.

The Army has put up a good fight, but there's really only one reason Andy is not very good. Some have realized this for the last few years.

There's apparently an award for the best offensive lines in college football and they are one of the finalists:
