How racist and stupid can Biden be?

The claim in the first place was that the wall was racist and wouldn't work, so why is Biden resuming construction on it and fixing the gaps?

If it's racist and hateful, why would he fix it?

If it doesn't work, why piss away tax payer money for nothing?

If that's not what Biden says or does, you don't have much of a comparison. Only a poorly crafted talking point.

Walls and fences always existed at certain areas and of course need to be maintained. That is and was true under Biden, Trump, Obama and all the other presidents.

I'll look at the link when I get home. Off the top of my head though, my first guess is that Biden is repairing/replacing portions of the walls put in place long before trump. That or the money was already allocated for the sections by Congress, which wouldn't have anything to do with Biden as he wasn't in office.

I don't think most people said walls don't work, it's more of an issue of a wall being the least effective deterrent in some cases.

If you build a wall in the middle of a desert with no one watching it, I'm just going over it. Or under it. Or if it's like the sections that fell over due to high wind and loose soil, I'll just push it over.

Because America decided long time ago that walls and fences are part of securing the border.

Contrary to conservative belief, democrats are not for open borders either. The goal to cap illegal immigration alone is not xenophobic or racist in its nature. It becomes so if one explicitly claims that the wall is needed to keep rapists and murderers out.

I addressed the first issue in a other post. As to the second, congress throttled impoundment powers during the nixon years. Previously, yes, a potus could withhold funding for things congress approved. Now, if I'm remembering right, congress has to vote on whether or not to uphold funding it previously approved.

That and other issues are why the first year of a presidents term is more like the last of the previous presidents. Most of the legislation and funding allocations are in place. 2021 is just trumps fourth year, just like 2016 was obama's eighth, etc

Trumps position on immigration were clearly racist, i.e. illegal immigrants are diseased criminals, but I disagree with anyone who ever says a border wall is racist. And I would say that an overwhelming majority of liberals/democrats agree. There has never been a single serious proposal by any Democrat to create "open borders".

But I noticed Brad has not responded to the question about why Biden would work on the wall if he and all other Democrats are in favor of open borders.

Because he realized how bad things were getting once his open border policies started to be known and immigrants started to realize that they wouldn't get in trouble and had a good chance of getting to this country.
