Burfict fined again
#1
His hit on FB Andy Janovich was deemed unnecessary roughness. After looking at the video included, I don't see how it's illegal but being that it's Burfict of course they would see it that way.

Where's the fine on Janovich, for lowering his head to initiate contact? He wasn't plunging through a line.

Welcome to the NFL in 2018, where you get fined for hitting a freaking Fullback who is running the ball. Smh why even have a defense out there.

That's some serious bullshit right there.   Sometimes I ***** hate the NFL.  Over 50 grand?  Now they're just stealing from him.

Don't like it but Burfict has become a cancerous tumor on the Bengals. He isn't playing well and he is an NFL target. For the sake of the team it is time to let him go. Let's put emotion aside and move on.

Led with the crown of his helmet. The onus is on the defender, not the offense to adjust contact points.

He's just going to have to start diving at people's knees.

If we're being honest, he dipped his shoulder on the first attempt at a tackle and really didn't go any lower right as Burfict hit him.

Burfict got the worst of it too. Was a big collision, tough dudes.

Saw a bit of the old Burfict in this game, just a touch, made a good play where it looked like he got a stinger.

Then he got a concussion. Mellow

That is a lot of dough for just running into the guy...

Part of me just wants Burfict to become our LB coach.

Bet he would be much better than Haslett.

Actually the new rule holds a player on the offense just as responsible. I'm with SB on this. If Burfict gets fined then Janovich should too or don't fine either.

Watch again. The FB dipped a bit on the first tackle attempt but doesn't go any lower as Burfict is hitting him. If he had dipped his head again as Burfict approached, i'd agree.

They aren't going to stop until he's out of the league. He's largely made his bed with dirty play, but now that he's cleaned it up...they refuse to recognize it.

The personal foul on Shawn Williams was ridiculous too. Apparently DBs are just supposed to allow receivers to just catch the ball.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

4.2 million dollars in fines over his career...

No offense but no. Once he becomes a coach, everyone he coaches will be penalized to hell and back. Any questionable hit will be flagged. NFL is kicking him out 1 play at a time. Very sad because Burfict is the definition of football.

Complete bullshit, a tackle inside the field of play can be called for unnecessary roughness after the game is over without a penalty even being thrown and then the player can be fined for it on top of it... it's obvious bias the league wants this guy out. Is what it is at this point.

This hit was only fined $27,739:

In conclusion, none of this is about player safety.  The league plays favorites and doesn't care as much if certain teams do things that could seriously injure other players.  Any Bengal who waved for a fair catch and speared anyone like that would've been ejected.  I wish that I could find a better video of it somewhere, because he called for a fair catch before trying to break #30's jaw.  It's the epitome of stuff that they're trying to clean up with the new rules, and their response was pathetic.

Meanwhile Burfict gets fined for sneezing in someone's general direction.  Utterly absurd at this point that he's not even allowed to tackle.

At this point I seriously just want to see him go out in a blaze of glory. I hope he ends juju's career in the final game by delivering an epic life-altering hit and is then escorted off the field while waiving a 1 finger salute to the Rooney's and Goodell. It would make me feel better at least.

Where’s the fine for the DB that launched himself, both feet leaving the ground, that hammered Boyd last Sunday? No penalty on the play yet the DB literally launched himself into a defenseless Boyd. Sick and tired of the bullshit this league has become.

I honestly cannot believe that it’s legal to gamble on something that is so clearly fixed.

Well, it goes back to the people claiming that the league isn't rigged, it's impossible to rig games by "officials and refs" except when it's as plain as the noses on our faces. Even Marv is beginning to finally question some of the ticky tacky calls for holding, etc., and to my knowledge he's NEVER questioned a call since he's been here .
I'd be fine if the entire team just decided to not play the rest of the season in protest, but of course that's never going to happen.
I think it's gotten to the point that even if the Bengals didn't have all the injuries they've had this season and were winning despite Marv and company somehow the league would reverse calls even after games were over to declare someone else the winners and come up with some kind of excuse and maybe even fire entire ref crews to say they missed too many calls.
I just don't put anything past the league anymore. .. Burfict not withstanding.
All the talk about these "amazing offenses" to me spells it out that winning has been in essence litigated towards the teams the league wants to win and rules are being customized to favor teams to win based on how their QBs play or who is playing and that's not being discussed nor will it. It'll be dismissed as conspiracy theories and such .
In the immortal words of my old man, "Wait'll you get to be my age!"
