Game of Thrones
I'm going speak in code. Regarding the character returning that was mentioned in the spoiler post, a new cast member who plays a religious figure revealed that the character we think is dead is with him this season.

Some thoughts/predictions:

1. Has anybody proposed that Samwell Tarly ends up being the third dragon rider instead of Tyrion? I think he could be, especially now that he has Heartsbane. He is smart, knows history, has honor, has been downtrodden, and could have the knoledge of the measters by then.

2. Brienne and Jaime will end up meeting on the battlefield in the battle to re-take Riverrun and one will have to kill the other.

3. Theon convinces Yara to take their ships to Mereen and transports the Dothrakis to Westeros. He ends up taking Danearys to help Sansa and Jon Snow to repay his debt to the Starks.

4. The Umbers sent the letter to Jon Snow in an effort to get him to march on Winterfell. The Umbers who are "allied" with Ramsey march their combined troops out to meet Jon Snow on the battlefield. When the battle begins, the Umber soldiers turn on the Boltons and help Jon Snow take Winterfell back.

5. Is Hodor now a wight? If so, not only will he be damn formidible, but he could cause Bran to pause at a critical time in the coming battle with the White Walkers when he sees the undead Hodor. Result? I'm not sure.

2.  Jaime keeps his promise never to raise a sword against the starks or tullys....  Riverrun is taken without a fight.  But the blackfish escapes.   (I don't see brienne going there unless sansa sends her ... and that would take a good while to travel that distance.)  though its possible the queen sends Jaime north after sansa.

I don't see how Jaime vs Brienne would even be a fight. Jaime can't fight for shit anymore.

I don't think Theon and Yara have enough ships, 1000 seems to be the magic number.

My prediction is that the wall is knocked down the next time Jon goes back. Nice little piece of foreshadowing when he left.

Bold prediction: No more Starks die.

Yea, Theon and Yara can provide support to someone in Westeros, but they can't help Dany. I keep thinking Dany sets sail at the end of this season. She needs to be in Westeros next season. It'll take too long to build 1,000 ships.

I'm also with you on Starks. Jon and Bran are important for the end game. Arya isn't dying over in Essos and Sansa won't die. Rickon isn't a real player in any of this.

My question just becomes who is involved in this battle (of 6 armies apparently) and who are the known characters that are flayed and displayed by Ramsay during the fight?

Not sure if I mentioned it before, but the sigils of the houses Sansa talks to in the preview are those of Glover and Mormont, two smaller but loyal houses to the Starks. Also, the Manderlys have to get involved, I'm thinking.

That theory would have some of the weight of real world history behind it. Medieval armies were notorious for switching sides, often in the middle of battle. And George R.R. Martin loves to look back on real history for his stories.

Rickon would be at the top of the list of the flayed.

Here is what is left of Rickon:

Right now too those that know rikkon is the heir to the starks house. as the oldest known living stark male.

He might also be the best chance to futher the line.  As Sansa would probly take her husbands name when she got a proper one.   Unless something unfolds to allow jon to reclaim his title of Stark  (say a queen of dragons... )

But if that were to unfold  Would that cause issue between sansa and jon..  or arya when she returns if she ever makes it back to winterfell.

I would say Bran has a big part to play but not for the Stark line anymore.        Rikkon the only true male stark left. has a huge steak in all this.. But would likely be the one flayed for the battle. as he is a direct threat to the Bolton claim to warden of the north.

This story could go a lot of ways.  hopefully it doesn't end with the stark children fighting themselves like the dragons a long time ago.

There is still the issue of who Robb named his heir to the king of the north....  And might be another army from that.  (from the riverlands)

And the brotherhood without banners is still out there somewhere...    and should have found themselves a new voiceless leader by now.

Yea, Bran's fate is to be the Three Eye Raven now, probably living for a thousand years. Rickon would be the only Stark male eligible to rule based on if Jon is made official or not. I doubt Jon takes on his Targaryen name. He will always be a Stark.

yeah I ment being legitimized as a stark...

Say if Jon was named Robbs Heir to the North...  And Robb decreed him a stark.   im sure he would take it especially now his watch has ended.  but who knows the truth of that letter and who has it I am unsure in the TV version

I'm thinking more along the lines of Bronn. Jaime and Brienne meet up in the chaos of the battle, they both hesitate, and Bronn runs Brienne through from behind as she protects Jon Snow or Sansa. If you remeber the trial by combat in the Vale when Bronn was Tyrion's champion, Lysa shouted at Bronn that he didn't fight with honor. Bronn pointed out the moon door where he had just flung Lysa's knight and said "he did". I don't think he would have a problem stabbing someone in the back.

if they met in battle sure....

But Jaime is taking care of the riverlands and Brienne is at the wall...

And about this point in the books at least Jaime has had enough of Ceresi  (while in riverrun was the turning point but at the same time that was when ceresi was imprisioned so things have changed...)

The show has alter the timeline in which these events take place. So its hard to flow things together anymore.

In the books the last we saw of Jaime was Brienne meeting up with him on the road and having him follow her.  (presumably to see stoneheart) but until book 6 we know as much as jon snow.

I've watched every minute of every episode and reading this thread makes me feel like I know just about as much as Jon Snow does.

Something I forgot regarding the Brienne and Jamie confrontation talk: Sansa sent Brienne to ask the Blackfish for his help. So she will be here Jamie now is...

Also, I just read a spoiler on reddit regarding the Westeros storylines that was posted a few weeks back. So far, it has been 100% correct (in detail, too, not just vague), so I am thinking everything in the spoiler is correct. Because of this, I will not be posting anything else with regards to show speculation in Westeros.

Here's the link if you're interested.

Also, the German network that airs Game of Thrones accidentally revealed the episode titles for 8-10 but translated into German. Turns out their title for 8 was correct as HBO just revealed it. Those titles are in the link if you click it, but it appears that episode 9 will once again be the craziest episode of the season.

Thus my thought on that.

Jaime respects Brienne, more than I've seen him respect anyone else. I don't see them fighting again. In fact, it might even be possible that she recruits him.

I just read the final two seasons are going to be shorter, like 7 episodes each.  If we really only have 1.5 seasons remaining, they pretty much have to keep up the pace of this season every episode left.
