George Carlin on Republican attitudes towards women decades ago.
#41
Raise live babies to be dead soldiers? What exactly was he basing this on? Republican Presidents have a long way to go to catch up with dead soldiers under Democrats.
“History teaches that grave threats to liberty often come in times of urgency, when constitutional rights seem too extravagant to endure.”-Thurgood Marshall

In a broad sense he speaks the truth though:

Republicans say women have to have babies if they are pregnant no matter what the reason or their circumstances.  The choice should not be the owman's to make according tot hem.

After the child is born the Republicans want them to get no help from the government no matter what the circumstances are for the family.

The GOP war drum beats loudly.  They love a good war to spread "democracy" and "freedom".

Lastly they tend to vote down bills to help the ex-military when they get back from fighting.

Of course these are very general terms...but true nonetheless.

Thank God it's a comedy routine.

Since the progressive democrats have taken us into ww1 and 2 when we had no business being in either.

Not to mention the ramifications of FDR pulling the rug out from under Japan. That decision alone probably got us into the Vietnam and Korea to fight communism. Especially since Japan was the Asian power and was going to attack the soviets on the eastern front.

A lot of deaths there at the hands of progressive decisions.

Eh, your history is off there. A lot. Wilson and the Dems tried for several years to remain neutral. That was pretty well what Teddy Roosevelt used as political power — criticizing the "weak" Dems for not going to war like "everyone else".

And why on Earth would you want Japan to attack the Soviets? If they had, your supreme commander would be Asain.

The fall of Japan ensured communism to sweep the region. Which it almost has....

As for TR.... He was the first progressive, he and wilson were more on the same page than anyone .

Wilson could have stayed out and let WW1 end less lopsided. But he forced the Russians to stay in and in turn not allowing them use their troops for the Bolsheviks. Had wilson stayed out and not put those conditions to stay in the war on the Russians then at worst they would have lost just the weatern section of Russia to Lenin. Been able to use their troops to crush his revolution.

FDR by favoring China over Japan forced them to make an alliance with Germany for trade. Had we kept trading with Japan and let them sort their own region out and just made money off them. Then they would have pressured Stalin on the eastern front.

Ofc if not for wilson then there would be no Stalin.
