High school locker rooms and transgender

Unless I'm mistaken,  they were offered a gender neutral staff bathroom to change in, but insisted on being able to use the female locker room.

Then that should have been the acceptable alternative. Insist my azz, whoever gave in to that is the reason for the problem. Gender specific locker rooms are for specific genders. As long as he still has male parts, he is biologically male. If he is uncomfotable in the male locker room, then the gender neutral bathroom is the other option. End of story....until he gets the operation.

Because people who are actually mentally handicapped are Republicans?

Who said this?

Is it really appropriate that young girls be exposed to a naked boy in an all girls changing room?    He should stay in the men's locker room where his nakedness is the same as everyone else.

I would also have issue if a she/he was trying to get into the Mens locker room.

I really don't see how this is an unreasonable request.

I'm quite reasonable actually. I look at what's appropriate for the group in this situation.

1 person jamming their views on everyone else is a real problem when it comes to kids. Most parents don't want their kids exposed to a freak show at a young age. And that's the parents decision, which is why it's an issue when public schools try and force these controversial topics/issues on children. Each home has a different view of what's appropriate. Which is why you keep it simple and stick to least amount of drama.

I think all middle school kids should be forced to watch gay porn for an hour a day at least three times a week at school.

You have a home. You can enact this policy with your family. Don't need a school for this

Funny, but that is exactly the same thing the "pro-Sharia Law" Muslims said about my idea.

Why do you hate freedom, Lucy?

Your free to do as you please in your own home. But other people's children shouldn't be exposed to what you think is ok for your kids. Just as your kids shouldnt be forced to be exposed to other families practices.

The sooner we get boys and girls naked around each other the sooner than can learn how to be straight.  If you are only surrounded by naked people of your own gender you choose to be gay, ala dudes in prison.  Duh.

Yes let's avoid whether it's approproate for minors to Be forced to be exposed to nudity of the opposite sex at school.

This guy will be just fine in the men's room.

Are you ok with your wife and daughter running into this guy in the women's room?

Not sure what this has to do with schools locker rooms.

Just trying to figure out where you draw the line on forcing trans individuals who look like the opposite sex to use the bathroom that aligns with their birth sex.

Would you tell this man he has to use the women's room?

I don't think anyone wants to use a bathroom where some dumbass is taking pics, regardless.

Adults are way different than kids.   But I do feel that you should go where your parts tell you.  If your toting a hog... Your in the men's room.   If there is no hog .... Then your in the women's.

An Adult can tell some creepy person to get moving.   No reason a kid should have to deal with that...

My wife and I have discussed how we will be addressing this topic when it rears its ugly head.

So you think that the man in the photo belongs in the women's room, then? Interesting.

Trans people are creepy? Maybe this is why I said what I said about you being transphobic.

With class and tolerance, no doubt.

way to assume the worst.    My wife and I disagree on some things.

As far as gays or transexuals go....  We will just tell them that they are people who have made the choice to live another way.   And to treat them as we treat anyone else, with open hearts and with compassion.

As far as creepy... Yeah it's creepy when a big hairy man is dressed as a woman and wants to be called Cinnamon.

Maybe what bothers me about them is their lack of commitment.   Why straddle between a man body and woman mindset?  Two partial lives do not make 1 complete life.   If you think your a woman then get the surgery and go all the way.  Could at least respect them then for their courage and dedication.    That's why I respect the guy in the thread who is getting the chop.    Good for him.  Standing for something and taking ownership.

If you don't like gay porn in the school your child attends then just move away.  Or pay to send them to a private school.
