I completely disagree with this.

It you are an interior offensive lineman, it is up to you to pick up your assignment and hold that block.  If they guys on either side of  you are Hall of Famers who are playing at an elite level, it doesn't matter to what you are doing.  If the guys on either don't have enough talent to warrant playing in the NFL, it again doesn't impact you doing your job.  If you pick up and sustain your block on the correct man, then you've done your job properly, even if three other guys blow around you to get a sack.

The only way your line mates on either side can alter you doing your job is if they make the wrong read and pick up your guy or physically interfere with you're opportunity to do so.  That has not been happening with Z, he has just been failing at his job.
