I predict Jay Gruden is our HC next year if it's not Marvin

I witnessed BOTH Superbowls.  And now you have depressed me for doing so.  I now see myself as really old.   Cry

I notice the emphasis on really old every time I look in the mirror and see someone's grandpa looking back at me.

Think of how I feel. 25 years, never seen a damn playoff win. I'd never wish death on anyone, but maybe someone could do us all a favor and chloroform Mike and throw him in a closet somewhere. In Siberia.

I feel sorry for you whipper snappers. Never seen a playoff win, can't remember the teams that didn't crap their pants cause Pittsburgh, don't really remember when Bengals teams weren't laughing stocks.

Zimmer is gone unless they win big in the playoffs. Teams want an offensive young coach Zimmer is basically the opposite of that. I could see him back as either defensive Coordinator or head coach.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Sam Wyche didn't crap his pants with Pittaburgh. He actually had a winning record against them with the Bengals. Here's a fun fact, in 8 seasons Wyche lead the team to 10 wins against Pittsburgh. Marvin has been here 16 years and has 8 wins against Pittsburgh.

I don't know, but if he was the crucial vote in getting the 4 - 24 Cousins AND for that gazillions in $$$ guaranteed, he deserves to stay somewhere else.

Cousins was the best QB on the market and they needed one.

It's tough to get a great QB if you don't draft one.

I suppose this might be my flavor of the moment but I'm liking what I'm seeing in Bears Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio. We certainly could do worse than to hire him as a head coach. The Bears defense has allowed the third fewest points this year (247 -- number 1 is the Ravens at 241). Of course they also made the high profile and risky (but it seems to have paid off) move to spend two first rounders to acquire Khalil Mack. I doubt we'd ever make a move like that though maybe that is OK if you occasionally spend a first rounder on a linebacker (or at least enough other picks to find a linebacking corp that is better than our current one which is...not good).

Here's a nice piece on how he set the Bears up to beat the LA Rams last Sunday (though most of the piece is about how Goff fell for it):

Signing Cousins was a moronic move.  They were coming off a 13 win season, most of which were won by the QB they had.  Whoever signed Cousins should absolutely be fired.

Cousins is a far better QB than Keenum. It was not a moronic move at all.

Oh yeah?  How well has it worked out for them?  Cousins is Andy Dalton but at twice the price.  They tried to fix what wasn't broken.

Cousins is better than Dalton. He’s a highly underrated QB.

And he’s not having a bad season at all.

Are they gonna win 13 this year?  They broke the cardinal rule--don't **** with the mojo.

Yeah...it sucks to need a QB and have to go the FA route. How many free agent QB's join a team and make it much better? Not many.

I disagree. If you can upgrade a position, especially QB, you do it.

Look at KC.

I think it just shows how hard it is to have great season after great season in the NFL. Look at the Eagles this year.

Their coaches were considered great last year. Are they bad this year?

Keenum wasn't the reason the Vikings won last year.

And the Vikings didn't even need a QB.

Apples to oranges.  KC drafted a guy, saw how good he was, traded the one they had.  And he's not the highest paid QB in the league either.

Keenum was most certainly a reason the Vikes won last year.

I think you’re overrating what he did in Minnesota. 3500 YDS and 22 TD is the definition of game manager.
