Mixed reaction. Some definite poo pooing going on, which I guess is in tribute to TP hoarders everywhere.

I did not like Vigil, but we are perilously thin at LB now.

He's not great by any means...but he's a capable starter if needed, a valuable backup if coming off the bench, a solid special teams contributor and he brings postseason experience as well. All in all, a decent addition, especially when added to the other defensive signings.

He's a good player, with good football instincts.  The thing with me about him?  Don't rely on him, or expect him to be sturdy.  When I looked at his career stats, over his 9 year career, he's only appeared in 16 games once.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

This offseason offseason has been so alien for Bengals fans it almost makes you believe they will do something crazy in the draft like trade back into the first for one of the top Offensive Tackles lol.
I have the Heart of a Lion! I also have a massive fine and a lifetime ban from the Pittsburgh Zoo...

At this point, nothing would surprise me, and in a good way.

It's crazy if you think about it - the Bynes signing would usually be the highlight of our free agency period.

Have to give a lot of kudos to the front office so far this off-season.

A solid signing. I don't see Bynes on the field in obvious passing situations, but he'll help with the run defense.

Wow, they have a good Starting Lineup against the run and pass now going into the draft! I don't know if Pratt or Bynes can play the middle or not? Either way, we are still missing another serviceable LB which I'm sure they'll add another 2-3 from FA/Draft/Veteran Releases, etc....

I like it. Not a big splash signing but we need to sign 2-3 free agent linebackers. Kind of still wish we brought Vigil back too. But this guy definitely improves the weakest spot on our team for sure.

If anything it's a more atheletic defense on all 3 levels. Tired of seeing players like Vigil and Brown looking like
They are closing in on ball carriers with concrete in their cleats.
Anytime you can take a quailty starter away from a division rival that's good

Bynes is a solid pickup for the LB corps. This helps ease the need at LB going into the draft.

Yep, Bynes is a real speedster, with that 4.81 in the 40 time..

More good news from the Bengals. They have removed a lot of pressure off the draft.

Solid move, physically limited but solid instincts. They needed a rotational vet and I think they'll end up with another bargain fa that won't preclude them from landing two LBs in the draft.

They will target a LB high but you need a few vets to rotate if your prospect isn't there or an amazing BPA falls in yoir lap. You don't want to paint yourself in a corner where someone makes you an offer to move up and you take a guy like Sample because you're afraid he won't be there next round.

Ok not bad. Keep me coming. One more vet and 2 draft picks.

Great job in landing this guy - he appears to be just what the doctor ordered for the LB room. These are the kind of signings that good rosters are made of. If anyone thinks that he's just some scrub, maybe they should watch this(analysis starts at 0:55):

Solid pickup. Good vs the run and doesn’t get caught out of position. Reliable. Good depth signing. Need at least another linebacker in FA and then a couple draft picks.
