NFL Makes TERRIBLE Announcement

NFL Makes TERRIBLE Announcement (fans shocked!)
Ever since NFL players decided to use their television time to shove their liberal politics down Americans throats, ratings for the league have plummeted.
Now, what few fans they have left have been left with terrible news.
How bad have ratings gotten? So bad, the NFL has cancelled their primetime television match-up on NBC this week, removing the nationally televised game from the airwaves — and even CNN has acknowledged the devastating impact conservatives boycotting the league has had on ratings.

“The NFL has canceled the final Sunday night football game of the season. ,” CNN reported Tuesday. “Don’t worry, no one was going to watch anyway.”
Indeed, both attendance and ratings for the NFL have cratered since players began their anti-American protests.
Before the protests, stadiums across the country were constantly packed with tens of thousands of boisterous fans every Sunday. Millions more tuned in on television to watch marquee match-ups.
Now, there seems to be more empty seats than paid attendees. Advertisers have begun pulling out of their multi-million dollar contracts. After the NFL was caught bribing players to stand — by taking the money from veteran’s groups — ratings declined even further. At least one owner has announced his intention to sell his team in the off-season.

The Baltimore Ravens went so far as to send a letter apologizing to their conservative fans and asking them to come back.
In fact, it’s so bad that television stations have reportedly resorted to hiring actors to pretend to be fans at the games.
Now they’re cancelling national primetime broadcasts and moving them to local television?
Things have gone very badly for the NFL in 2017 — and it will only get worse.

That article is right, pretty soon NFL owners will be selling their franchises for pennies on the dollar.  I haven't seen a football league crash like this since Vince McMahon's XFL....no wait, Trump's USFL....yeah that's the one.

most of that is from TV deals and those companys are losing money and will want to renegotiat

Meanwhile, the fact that the televised product is often utter crap never crosses anybody's mind. At least not when you can deflect the blame somewhere else.

That's possible, but a decline in ratings due to more Americans moving away from expensive cable packages is affecting more than the NFL and NFL games.

Which companies that advertise with the NFL are losing money?  And remember, even companies experiencing lessened revenue doesn't mean LOSING money.

This was the first article I found on a financial site that mentioned specific sponsor reactions to the NFL protests:
http://www.businessinsider.com/nfl-protests-how-brands-have-responded-2017-11/#anheuser-busch-2

A glance shows most of them made rather non-committal replies about freedom of speech and continuing their sponsorship.  Papa John's CEO is the main guy complaining about the protests, but I don't see him stopping his usual 30 commercials or so per game any time soon.  We shall see what happens next year, but I don't think the  NFL is causing any fortune 500 companies many losses.

Hey, are you saying the Browns' empty stadium is due to something other than Cleveland being the most patriotic city in the country?

The part of the equation I don't understand is what does NBC get? NFL pulled their game and regardless of ratings decline (it's a real thing), it is still revenue producers. So it seems NBC got the shaft.

How did I miss this earlier?  Nately, my man, is that where we are, as men right now?  C'mon brother, you're better than that.  Venture outside the city, find yourself a good country girl.  Chances are that she has a favorite NFL team, and is only looking for a dependable man that works and gives her steady lovin'.

So they decided that any of the game available wouldn't matter after the early games and it was NYE.

How did that become a political statement or "win" for one side or the other?

Nah, I just went on more than a few dates with women who found the fact that I liked football to be tantamount to supporting a violent and sexist conglomerate that takes taxes from the poor and gives them to billionaires and blah blah blah.  Now I get to hear how I'm supporting a bunch of America-hating thugs from the other side of the political spectrum.  What fun.

All I know is that when the NFL collapses all the ultra-liberals and ultra-conservatives I know can all throw a giant party together.

Oh, my gf is from the country.  She's pretty reasonable, but her family is along the "Those colored boys should stand up and shut up and be glad they're allowed to even be in the NFL" variety.  She's a Jaguars fan, so that's a whole new kettle of wackiness, too.
