Sewell=0 Sacks, 2 QB Hits, 6 Total Pressures

Jonah=1 Sack, 0 QB Hits, 3 Total Pressures
Spain=0 Sacks, 0 QB Hits, 0 Total Pressures
Hopkins=2 Sacks, 1 QB Hit, 4 Total Pressures
XSF=0 Sacks, 2 QB Hits, 5 Total Pressures
Reiff=1 Sack, 1 QB Hit, 3 Total Pressures

Sewell hasn't allowed a sack yet, but Goff is only taking a sack on 14.3% of Pressures.  Burrow is taking a sack on a ridiculous 40.9% of his pressures.  He was at 21.9% last year by comparison.

Haven't the Lions only played one game? Don't they play tonight?

Burrow is not doing himself any favors, that’s for sure. I mean, the OL was certainly bad against Chicago, but Joe just can’t do shit like this…

Mack got him and it is understandable, the dude is great. Saw Jonah come right back after and block Mack and another OL one
right after the other. It is early in the season and to act like we haven't seen some damn good pass rushers is ignorant. To also
act like it has all been on the OL and Pollack is also ignorant.

At least Hopkins looked competent again.

Good catch!  So, yeah, Sewell allowed 2 Hits and 6 pressures in his debut.  I will edit tomorrow after his #'s come out.

Cool bro thought so.  ThumbsUp

We will see how bad he looks after 2 games, it hasn't been promising so far and the Packers have some good pass rushers.

Chase on the other hand has looked more than promising in his first 2 NFL games. Thought Burrow missed Chase early too against
the Bears where Chase was running a short Post Slant and Burrow threw outside to Tee instead and it ended in an incompletion.

Burrow just had a rough game and it sure wasn't all on the OL.

Need to audible out of those outside curls if the DB's are all over them. Use Tee on inside curls so he can use his body to shield.

This one late was also a bad miss by Burrow. Chase beat his man, and there was plenty of time for Joe to make the throw.

Remember that, was right before he threw the long TD to Chase on the same drive. Burrow did sail that one.

Burrow will be scratching his head when watching film of this game to say the least.

Its alright, early in the season, we are .500. Lets get a win against Pitt and things are looking up. One game at a time.

Lots to learn from in that Bears game though. Don't put so much on the Defense is a big one.

Honestly, the problem isn't the line, its the play calling. A good coach would hide the oline issues, instead Turd Taylor exposes them. He has to go.

It took several years of bad drafting, bad free agents and bad negotiating for the line to get where it is.

If we put a lot of emphasis into it (seeking out proven FA, making good drafting decisions, and locking down the talent on the roster) then we might get a decent OL in a couple seasons. And a good one (good starters, not a ton of dropoff in depth) in 3-4 years.

Unfortunately, our focus is on skills players and corners, and has been for several years. We're a looooong way off from having a decent line.

The lazy narrative that it was OL at #5 or bust is letting Tobin and the team off the hook for not doing more in FA. Which where you acquire actual proven players, that could have protected Joe, RIGHT NOW. Not down the road.

They should have signed a center at the very least in addition to Reiff (and maybe another OG). Banking of Hopkins to be ready was clearly a mistake. But unless you wanted to use a top 5 pick on IOL, FA is where they failed. Not the draft.

Not to start this entire debate again... but they could have also added a WR in FA just as easily as a high end OL player.

The team screwed up FA by not filling one of the two big offensive holes with a real solution so that the draft board was open. Kenny Golladay would have looked good in stripes.

Unfortunately, almost all of the FA $'s the past 2 years have gone into the defense.  And to be fair, the D actually looks really good through two games.

I would just be happy if guys looked like they knew who to block half the time.  At this point, we're on OL coach #2, and the problems still persist.

Although they do look improved somewhat so hopefully they can get it together eventually.

The entire streak of losing seasons coincides with our o-line failures.

It started with Ogbuehi/Fisher/Bodine and went on from there.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.

Let the numbers speak for themselves..

Burrow sacks so far.

* 2nd & 7, Shotgun, play-action
* 1st & 10, Under Center, play-action
* 1st & 10, Under Center, play-action
* 3rd & 5, Shotgun
* 3rd & 3, Shotgun
* 3rd & 10, Shotgun
* 2nd & 1, Shotgun, Empty
* 2nd & 10, Shotgun, Empty (busted play)
* 2nd & 10, Shotgun, Empty

In addition to 16 QB hits according to ESPN stats.

So I guess it wasn't addressed so well after all the back and forth this offseason debates.

My only hope is we don't have Burrow get knocked out for a second year in a row and eventually become Andrew Luck 2.0 because of an inept front office addressing this issue. We have a Quarterback who can become one of the greats if allowed with protection. Instead, he looks like he will be a casualty of war from lack of protection if this trend continues throughout the year.

To put things in to perspective, in 2020 Burrow averaged 40.4 pass attempts per game. In 2021 he's averaged 28.5 pass attempts per game.

The sack percentage for 2020 was 7.2%. For 2021 it's 13.6%.

Regardless of which player gets credited with the sack, the results are troubling.
