I don't know how much I agree with that, in this context.  Minimizing the grift of others by pointing out the extremities of Trump can just as easily be seen as minimizing their actions

Is it your position that Obama's 15.8 million in profits from books is "grift"?  One written in 1995?

How are Obama's book royalties "profiting from office" in the sense that Truman complains of? 

Kushner getting Qataris to buy an office building, or the U.S. government using Trump venues, would be censured by Truman. 
So would hiring one's children and one's friend's children. 

Why isn't driving this kind of equivalence "hyperpartisan"?  What "trap" have you sprung by comparing what look like honest earnings duly read from tax forms made public to the Trump mess--campaign money paid to a porn star, government money steered to Trump properties, tax forms witheld etc. https://www.npr.org/2021/01/19/958472500/how-trumps-businesses-benefited-during-his-presidency.
