Beyond that:  He was talking about Trump's promise to bring the coal jobs back I believe.  And Obama was right.

The American public views presidents the way NFL fans view backup QBs.  We're in love with the new guys.

Clinton had more experience than Trump
McCain had more experience than Obama
Gore had more experience than Bush W
Bush HW had more experience than Clinton
Carter had more experience than Reagan

and blah blah blah.  Americans are so furious with politicians that I assume the fact that Trump was president for 4 years will sink his 2020 bid.  We will have debates where candidates try to convince us how little they know about politics and how they've never even cared about the stuff.
