Pro Day Thread
#1
Figured we could put a thread for all the pro days under 1.

Oklahoma was last week, we were there (Taylor). Murray threw the ball like he had on tape all year, really well. Ford could have also been a target along with a couple interior linemen in the later rounds.

Taylor also ended up at the Clemson pro day. Lot's of talent there on the D line as well as secondary talent.

The team also went to K State so it seems Risner is in play.

We were at Michigan's proday. I think Gary is a sleeper if he falls to 11 even though I am not sold on him. The hope is he was there to see Bush, but if they noticed CB David Long I wouldn't be upset for a post day 1 pick.

Alabama's pro day is today, I am excited to see what Mack Wilson runs. If he can get in the low 4.6's I think he is probably a mid to late round 1st.

Walter Football says they met with Cody Ford at his pro day but I cant confirm this because all the articles about OU pro day are geared toward Kyler Murray.

I have to admit Watlerfootball is usually right about this kinda stuff.

I trust nothing from that guy, his "sources" tend to be crap in my experience. With that said I'm not opposed to Ford, so that's cool haha.

Can Ford play RT or would he play RG?

I think he can play RT at a solid level, he may have elite talent at guard though. I'm okay either way with him.

Zach Taylor was at the Alabama pro day by the way.

I cannot believe that the Bengals would draft Cody Ford after signing Miller and after signing Bobby to those contracts. I hate to say this but I believe that Taylor was primarily scouting Murray

Again, they have been at a lot of O line pro days. It won’t preclude them from drafting O line early. Hart’s contract is really one year with team options not a ringing endorsement of a long term solution.

Not to mention they are going into the Clint Bolings final year. Cordy Glenn is signed through 2020 but they have an option of cutting him after 2019 with 0 dead cap if he doesnt improve...They dont have a backup swing tackle and the backup interior linemen are all going into the final year of their deals. (Westerman, Hopkins, Redmond.)

They need offensive linemen this year in the draft.

"The Cincinnati Bengals had their assistant receivers coach on hand. He asked (KeeSean) Johnson to run specific routes used by the Bengals after position drills ended and took the wideout to dinner this evening."

"The day before the workout, Ford had dinner with the New York Giants, who will look to upgrade their right tackle position during the draft. He also met extensively with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Cincinnati Bengals are also showing a lot of interest in Ford."

I agree with your logic but I think Taylor will want an impact player from his first round pick.  I like Ford a lot.  I think you are correct in that Glenn will need replaced fairly soon and maybe Hart by next year.  But if they draft Ford, he will likely sit for a year unless injury.  I think they will extend Boling.

First pick of Taylor's career as HC will be an impact player or a star player.  If it is Murray (again, I do not like his personality) he will sit for a year but it will create a buzz in the city (good or bad lol).

I am okay with a Ford pick.  In fact, I would like him over many others other than Lindstrom and Risner.

I think it'll be a day 2 Tackle and a potential double up in day 3.

I would say they probably keep him two years depending on how he does next year. He's still so young and carries his lowest cap hit in 2020, while also cutting dead money in half following year.

Zac Taylor is at OSU's Pro Day. Not surprising since it's only two hours away.
