Super Bowl on the line, and you Perine.

The Rams went to Kupp when literally everyone knew they were going to. They let their star player go out and win them the game.

Personally I would have just hit something quick to Chase right there. He’s almost impossible to bring down immediately. I like his chances to pick up 1 yard.

That’s exactly why coaching matters. Games on the line your job is to put your team in the best position to win the game and Taylor and Lou absolutely failed to do so. Apple is ***** straight up trash…you don’t get to make three decent plays in the playoffs and all of a sudden it erases all of the times he’s been burnt and Lou leaves him on an island vs Kupp. Then Zach absolutely does the dumbest ***** personnel decision by going with a backup RB who couldn’t make another treats practice squad in the most crucial moment.

**** Zach and **** Mike Brown for always thinking they are the smartest ones in the room. I’m glad that fat piece of shit will never see a SB win in his lifetime for all the pain and misery he’s caused fans and past/current players.

I agree with this statement. Management of this team has always made half assed efforts to attract too talent. They knew burrow was almost finished last year. They knew their weakness they had the money yet did they sign any of the best linemen? If they had they would be champs. This is how i don’t know how someone can invest your emotions in a team when management is not 100 percent committed to winning. I get Carson palmers comments.

We had an extra $6 million in cap space.  It would not have paid for any of the guys you wanted to sign to fix our o-line.

Statically speaking Apple was one of the best CBs in the league since the bye (week 11).

And Kupp has had one of the best season in NFL history (158 receptions for 2375 yards and 22 tds).  If it is so easy for coaches to shut him down then why hasn't every other coach on the league done it?

Properly run organizations do what they need to fix issues as glaring as the ones we had. Rams traded away draft picks all year to fill in pieces. Bengals rolled the dice time and time again with the same guys who burned them all year. Same song as last year. Bengals have an apt for starting players that have been cut and labeled as busts from other teams.

There’s a reason why past guys like Palmer and all the talking heads are constantly bashing the way Mike Brown runs this organization…these are not things made up out of thin air. You cannot roll with guys who have proven to fail time and time again and expect different results.

Show me the statistics…

What game plan did Lou have for Kupp? Game on the line and he singles up Apple on Kupp and you think that’s the right thing to do? Everybody knew he was the target.

Rams were built to win this year.  They have a bunch of old players and had to make moves out of desperation.  They will pay for those moves in the future.

We are loaded with young talent and set up to be good for a few years.  No need to trade away our future for a chance to just win one year.

You are not guaranteed anything in this game or life. You have to seize the moment when it’s there. They could sign the 5 top linemen and Chase or burrow could blow out their knee next preseason.

Oh yes…the good ol’ adage of let’s build for the future. Yesterday was the future…I’m willing to bet everything I have they don’t ever get another shot at a Super Bowl with Burrow under center. Not with guys like Herbert, Mahomes, and Allen in the AFC.

The stats I saw were through dec 27th so they would just cover 6 games (10-15), but he was #1 CB in passer rating allowed (11.0) and catch rate per target (35%) over that span.

He also had PFF's highest coverage grade, but since I always question those subjective grades I won't cite it to support my argument

I’ve said a few times, and most recently a few weeks ago that I don’t quite understand Perine’s usage. If he clearly stood out as a superior blocker, then it would’ve made a bit more sense. He’s been used as if he’s this pass catching specialist who is nails as a pass protector, and at the expense of a more explosive and better pass-catching Mixon. I think Perine - if anything - would’ve been better served as a breather for Mixon on some early downs or drives in this offense over the season, not as a 3rd down back at the expense of Mixon.

3rd and short has been our kryptonite, literally, all year.

As we were watching the game, I said "I'd honestly rather have a 3rd and 7 then a 3rd and 1." My wife asked me why and I said "Because 3rd and 1 makes our coaches think they can run for the first down, and they can't." She replied "They can't get 1 yard?" and I said "They haven't all year. They're not going to start now."

And then the play happened.

It was just Zac being Zac. He has been doing this shit all year. He's a great coach and a valuable asset to the team, but I really wish he'd give up play calling.

But we know he won't, so I only hope that the Oline has been what is hampering his playcalling and we fix it in a MAJOR way, this off season. I'm talking brand new Center, Right Guard, Right Tackle at a minimum AND a depth chart that won't crumble the second a starter gets injured.

Overinvest in the Oline. I don't care if you have legitimate starting talent on the bench. This Oline is going to end Joe's career if we don't take care of it NOW.

And I don't even mean via the draft. We need to do this via free agency. You sign starters in free agency, you draft the future. If you draft a player and they're good enough to start from day 1, great, but you should never go into the draft expecting that to happen. Especially when the health of your star QB is hanging in the balance.

Please Mike Brown. Please. Please invest in this Oline via free agency like never before. Ryan Jensen, Brandon Scherff and Terron Armstead. Sign at least two of them.

What Crazydog said ^^^ about investing in the oline. It bit us in the end, as Bengals couldnt sustain drives and Burrow didn't have enough time for the guys to get open so he can get a pass off.

Secondly, I hope the Bengals draft a running back high up in the draft. Finding a Gio 2.0 so to speak who can pass block, catch, is agile, and runs hard would be a great addition. Then let Perine and Evans battle it out in the offseason. Some say Evans is that guy. Well we'll see, but still try to find a proper running back, because teams need two good ones for the grind of the season.

Nothing in the NFL is promised. See Dan Marino.

I never want to see perine on the sideline again.

Everything else aside, 3rd and 1 and you power I into Aaron Donald with Perine.  I wouldn’t do that in a game of madden I play on Tuesday. Yet, in the Super Bowl, that’s the play call.  I love everything about this team, but whoever decided to run Perine on 3rd and one (Callahan, Taylor, etc) should probably decide football is not on th Orr best interest.

It definitely was ZT's best play called game.  I just don't understand why we didn't do more screens to attack that pass rush.  Oh well, it is what it is.  Just fell a little short, great season.

Wait…you think yesterday was Taylor’s best game?

Taylor should have challenged his idiotic 4th down decision in 1st quarter. Donald was offside

You can trust pretty much any RB to make one yard behind a competent offensive line. We don't have one.

It's more on the line than it is on Perine.
Everything in this post is my fault.
