And whatever that concert venue is now called on the river? Yeah, it's always gonna be "The Coliseum".

The Raiders will always be the Oakland Raiders to me.

my first games were in Oakland in the early 70's.  I found that ugly stadium to be great just because of the vibe.

that being said, that XFL expansion team is about to come to Cinci to play a playoff game.  Not too bad for a XFL expansion team.

did anyone really think we were going to let a division rival with a young QB who is slinging it to get in?

Ben's retirement party is in KC this year, and after that, their cupboard is bare.  You guys hate the Steelers for being a division rival, we hate them for every game we played against Chuck Noll going back to the early 70's.

I didn't until I was listening to Jim and Pat on "Moving the Chains" and they said the most important thing for a coach to do is to do whatever it takes to get to the playoffs. That would have been a move that guaranteed going to the playoffs. Anything else was a risk you wouldn't. They were about half expecting it.

I would never have considered it.  I know the Steelers are far less a threat than Herbert and the Chargers.  And we get to play you guys instead of the Chiefs and no offense, but the Chiefs have our number going back a good number of years.

Winning was absolutely better for the Raiders than tying would have been. We may have all the confidence in the world in our Bengals, but objectively speaking a game in Arrowhead is more daunting than one in Cincinnati until proven otherwise.

my thoughts as well.  And seeing Ben get retired on the field vs the Chiefs is infinitely more satisfying than seeing our season come to an end vs the Chiefs clown act.  If my season is going to be one and done, better to let a team outside the division do the job than the division rival we pissed off last year by doing a ride around their stadium after a fluke win.

That being said, I am confident we will see two things, a good game Saturday and Ben getting carried off on his shield.  And if you read this post and think I am chalking up a loss on Saturday that is not what I said.

Well... Also for:
1) Tearing Carson's knee to shreds
2) Taking out Henry on the same play
3) Hines Ward basically doing the tackle equivalent to a sucker punch on Keith Rivers, breaking his jaw in the process
4) Breaking our punter's jaw

Hardly an exhaustive list, but you get the point.

Let's not forget their culture is so shitty they even assault our players off the field (Joey Porter/Levi Jones)

I forgot about that Vegas Casino mugging. Pretty relevant considering we play Vegas this week

Just say carr is old and watch them try to light you up. Even if we lose our upside is a super bowl someday with carr it’ll simply be a playoff win.

If the Steelers win or lose, we have reason to be happy.

My brother and neighbor are Raiders fans. I know all about the Chuck Noll BS. The Raiders of that era were dirty as hell, and didn't mind admitting it. I can respect that. The Stoolers were just as dirty, if not more so, but tried to put off this wholesome image of "hard nosed football" all the way into the beginning of the CTE era. I couldn't stand that about them. Hypocrisy. Hell, Chuck Noll taking the Raiders to court and calling them "the criminal element of football"......what a joke! For me, the hatred of Shitsburgh goes beyond being a division rival.

That would be Billay over the Chiefs Forum. I think he goes by Titty Meat over there.

Funny Dude. If you're into that kind of stuff.

Anyway, returning to posts that aren't whatever the hell that was supposed to be:

I've been thinking about game progressions that could be worst for the Bengals (mental preparation for the worst and all). A lot of attention has been given to the Raiders DL getting pressure and that is a valid concern. However, the single thing I think would be most damaging (among possibilities that are plausible enough to be worth talking about) would be a big game from Josh Jacobs. That would neutralize the weather advantage, gas the crowd, and probably make the defense more susceptible down the field. The Bengals have generally been strong against the run this year, but there have been bad games like Cleveland and Kansas City. That cannot happen.
