***OFFICIAL 2018 DRAFT DISCUSSION THREAD***

We will see, he has a big arm, but knock on him is lacks toughness in the pocket, goes down easily and has no mobility. So other than the big arm, a polar opposite of Ben according to some.

First 6 years BB - 41 wins and 54 losses with 1-1 playoff record with 2 teams Browns and Pats

Yep. This pick scares me ngl. All these years waiting out Big Ben and they drafted his clone. Ugh

We could use an upgrade from fat randy.

We already wasted a pick on a kid that couldn’t beat out Fat Randy don’t want to waste another one.

Respectably disagree, Allen is a huge QB with toughness and Ben clone. Sorry experts say this guy is soft.

Fair enough but Elliott turned into a pretty good kicker.

Elliott missed a couple and Fat randy played above his head to win that job. I’ll be sick if we fix the Oline and defense with this draft but still drop games because of fatboy. That’s all I’m saying.

The draft is about drafting players that can start and help your team. If you can draft a player that could be an upper echelon starter at his position for 10+ years, albeit a kicker, why not?

Your concern is legit. Specially taking into account how slow Marvin is at correcting or addressing the K when things go bad.

The voice of reason! Thank you!

Hope they’re right. I just see a 6’5 QB with a huge arm and it worries me. We’ve been getting abused by one for 14 years.

That kid has a super bowl ring now.  The Eagles were patient when we weren't. We were stupid about Eliott.

I think that’s a hindsight 20/20 thing though. Respectfully understand we had to flip a coin on that decision and didn’t land in our favor.

I agree, they should have told Randy upfront he was kicking for exposure for other teams and job was the rookie they drafted. Elliott has range Randy will never have and he showed it in his rookie year setting records.

Good for him? So we should give someone a roster spot even if they’re outperformed? I don’t get that like of thinking. Fat Randy won the job fair and square.

We could use an upgrade from fat randy.

All "fat" Randy has done is hit 88.5% of his FG's and 94.9% of his XP's as a Bengal.

Why are we looking to replace that?

The same reason you give a roster spot to a QB picked in round 1, but loses out to a starter and is not better right now than the 2nd string guy....potential

We can right the wrong by grabbing piniero today. I’d be ok with Carlson too as he is my 1b

Well, I would call it more of a tie. Last preseason game they both failed to lock down the confidence of ML. Both of them had the chance.

Randy would have that ring if we would've kept Elliott and the Eagles signed Randy.

Elliott had next to nothing to do with that chip and he nearly cost the Eagles by missing an XP in the big game.

Are you seriously comparing a1st RD QB to a kicker?

Good point. I had forgotten about that.

Yes in theory, if 2 guys are equal or close, but one guy kicks 60 yard field goals and 1 only 52 or 53, I go with the one who kicks further, the one I spent (trusted him) a valuable draft pick and the one who is much younger.

I think we should have never created a competition and would have cut Randy after week 2 so he could go land a job somewhere else. I think that was the bad decision because as you said, a kicker position is much different than a QB so drafting a kicker in round five is like drafting a QB in round one or 2 in my opinion as kickers normally are not drafted at all.
