He's going to have to find someone to sneak him his yowder if he gets locked up.  High grade coke is probably tough to come by in prison.  He'd better get used to whatever bathtub crank his cellmate can convince his old lady to stick into her orifices.

And yet Canada is considered so much more benevolent and progressive than the US.  You don't have to tell me though.  I had a friend working on a film in Toronto a few years back.  They discovered he had a DUI from over a decade from that time and revoked his visa.  The Mounties literally came and got him and escorted him out of Canada within six hours of his being notified.

I think I've done an adequate job of just that over the years.  I'm sorry you feel differently.

Quote:This is a line of profession that comes with higher standards. Maybe they should start acting like it.

This is an interestingly huge brush you're painting with.  It almost sounds like you're attacking every single LEO like they've done something wrong.

Quote:I know how unions work. You just totally missed the point. Things are allowed to be improved upon. One way to improve would be for LEO unions to use common sense. There are no laws that say a union has to protect shitbags that I am aware of.

Dear god, you really live in a black and white world.  It is very rare that someone is objectively a "shitbag".  LEO's get false allegations hurled at them all the time.  Regardless, a union's job is to represent it's members.  It is literally no different than a defense attorney defending a complete, objective, piece of human garbage.  I know the defense attorney who represented the Grim Sleeper serial killer (as an aside one of my former officers was good friends with the Grim Sleeper's son).  He's a good guy, not a Johnny Cochran type at all.  But he still defended a complete garbage human being, because that's his job.

Quote:If someone as thoughtful as yourself can not wrap your head around this tiny little concept maybe we should just defund all together and let the MAGA and CHOP crowd handle the duties.

Respectfully, I don't think it's me having comprehension issues here.  But fell free to push in that direction, I'm sure it'll work out well for you.

Interesting that you think expecting and enforcing higher standards is attacking all LEOs. I guess when the country lowers its standards for the prez standards are lowered across the board.

Apparently you are not ready for the concept that unions protecting shitbag LEOs is different than a lawyer defending a criminal. So I give up for now.

I love Canada. Been there a number of times and I have enjoyed all of it. They are more progressive than the US in some ways, but people who think of it as this liberal haven have another thing coming. Canada is a lot more like the US than most people tend to realize.

That perception of Canada has less to do with their immigration laws and more to do with their shockingly low homicide/violent crime rate and universal health care (or at least, that's how it seems to me).

That's pretty much the beginning and the end. When you look at their politics, some of the same stuff that our government screws up, they do as well.

RE: Storming Of The Capitol Building - Au165 - 01-13-2021

Apparently, three members of Congress gave leaders of the insurrection a tour of the capitol the day before. Specifically, the nut from Colorado, the same one who was live-tweeting live locations of congress members, had pictures taken of her giving the tours to people who have been confirmed part of the insurrection.

RE: Storming Of The Capitol Building - Au165 - 01-13-2021

Also worth noting that metal detectors were installed following the attack last week and about a fifth of Republicans are simply walking around them or walking through them and continuing to walk after setting them off. In a not surprising rebuke to rules, some of those Republicans are claiming they are "unconstitutional" as if the invasive airport security we got after 9/11 or the Homeland Security Act weren't.

Mind you they have a new rep who ran an ad about bringing her gun to the floor to "protect her family" who apparently hid when the crap went down.

Not a surprise given her arrest record over the last decade. She’s a prime example of how literally any moron with a pulse can get elected in some districts as long as they say the right partisan buzz words.

Seditious conspiracy would go well with the rest of her rap sheet.

I'll say it again for those in the back...SEDITIOUS CONSPIRACY! Any congressman who gave tours to these people needs to be interrogated by the FBI to find out what they knew about these people when agreeing to such tours.

Yes but what if you know someone who was breaking the law!  Ninja

All seriousness aside you have to wait up to ten years just to enter the country if you had a DUI in another country (10 years being the max sentence there for the crime).  They ARE strict but hey, "law and order" amiright?   Although I've heard some horror stories about the police there also "turning a blind eye" to some of the "lesser" citizens in certain parts of the country/city when they are needing help.  Every country has it's problems.

They make up for it by having, as you say, low homicide rates and universal healthcare and the majority of the citizens there seem to like it.

My wife and I had talked about a trip to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls after going to the US side in 2019.  2020 nipped that in the bud.  Our company does business there and the boss has never had anything but nice things to say about it as a visitor/tourist.

Yea I'd say the liberal paradise notion could be dispelled by the treatment of their own indigenous people by the powers that be, but ehh...

Allegedly, 3 members of Congress were directly involved in 1/6.
